Pleased to say that this 120 minutes defined a generation. 1999 was such a golden year for Trance music and many people reference this very set as opening their eyes to the power of Trance.

It's hard to believe how groundbreaking and well-polished some of the tunes that I selected and played out, really were!! This mix still sounds timeless judging by today's standards and features tunes from the likes of Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, long before they became household names. It will appeal to all those who love it fresh, raw and pumping!!! Ladies and gentlemen, 20 years ago to this month, I created my second Essential Mix (of four) which was broadcast on BBC Radio 1.

The wait is over!!! I'm really excited to reveal the latest offering from the RΞBOOTΞD stables!!! The third installment of this ever evolving phenomenon has returned to make its mark on the global trance community once again!!!

Imagine an intricate selection of priceless trance music mixed in such a meticulous manner that when you press play it will be like opening Pandora's box. Instead of unleashing some deadly sins (well perhaps a few!!), it will be a 3 hour symphony of musical splendour featuring the latest delights that will captivate your world as it has mine :)
 
This mix has been brought to you through a fusion of methods. Firstly, there's music that has been well-received at my live gigs over the last couple of months. Secondly, out of the music that I get sent and discover, these tunes have undergone a strict process of elimination, in a bid to offer the best of the best to all of you!!!

There's such a variety of tunes featured in "REBOOTED Vol.03" which positions the mix well and makes us appreciate that there is a lot of choice within the trance landscape these days. I'll be the first to openly admit that I've never been into classifications, mainly because they're in abundance!! Whether it be vocal, melodic, cinematic, driving, pumping, hard, progressive, psy etc, there's something here for everybody. All you need to do is turn it up!! :)

Gatecrasher Birmingham’s 20TH BIRTHDAY, THE WARM UP: PART 1 on August 10th boasted an unforgettable atmosphere and exactly what I live for! The night was full of open-minded clubbers who wanted to feast on 2 hours of the latest trance delicacies that I had to offer (sprinkled with a select few, memorable tunes over the years to add to the 20th anniversary sentiment). Every time that I raised my head to look out across the dance-floor, all I could see in front of me was a sea of hands in the air...epic!! 

Here’s to another audio adventure captured for you all to discover and/or relive! Roll on GC20!!! :)

It really was an honour being asked to play, especially after having had so much involvement with this truly cosmopolitan, clubbing brand over the years. These range from playing on Friday nights at the Bournemouth Opera House (now the O2 Academy) to their phenomenal world tours - a real testament to the unique club culture which was rife at the time and to what SLINKY had achieved globally!! :)  

There's no question of a doubt that the mother of all parties was witnessed by all who attended the O2 Academy on Saturday 5th October 2013. Here's my contribution to mark the 16 glorious years of SLINKY!!!

Throughout last year, I have been fortunate enough to receive some exceptional trance from a whole host of different producers and labels around the globe. The music scene moves fast and I feel that some of these artists and producers sometimes do not receive the credit and airplay that they rightly deserve. I'm not a follower of the latest trend and have always been a believer in two types of music, good or bad. I assess on whether the tune is firstly any good and secondly, did it stand out to me - who made it, what label it is on or if another DJ has been playing it out is irrelevant.

I have created a 3 hour mix which I would consider be a tapestry of trance. "REBOOTED Vol.01" is first in a series of cutting edge, uplifting trance. It is a mix woven with care and attention, containing the finest ingredients to have graced my ears in 2012. This should not to be perceived as a "Best of 2012" or "An End of Year 2012" mix but more of an extended online mix album, crafted with that same degree of quality.

The new edition of Late Night Tales journeys to Scandinavia to invite Norwegian duo Röyksopp to delve through their record collection. Their Late Night Tales mix is eclectic, diverse and wonderful. Sliding from light folk to widescreen ambience to experimental rock to prog-pop (seasoned with the occasional guilty pleasure); it’s all in the spirit of the night.

Following the exclusive introduction track 'Daddy's Groove', Rare Bird's beautiful 1975 B-side'Passing Through' then leads into Australian supergroup Little River Band. The first of several delicate folk moments, it's joined by the ever soulful John Martyn. There's a strong representation of alternative European sounds. Röyksopp mine deep and wide to unearth the rare and unusual German psych-pop of Richard Schneider Jnr (featuring none other than Can's Jaki Leibezeit on drums), France's unique F.R. David and the new age melodies of Switzerland's Andreas Vollenweider - it's pop Jim, but not as we know it. There are also the more familiar names of XTCand Thomas Dolby, as well as Röyksopp's exclusive cover of Depeche Mode's 'Ice Machine' and brand new track opening Daddys Groove. The music draws to a close with goth-dream-pop 4ADfounders The Mortal Coil's Emmylou Harris cover 'Till I Can Gain Control Again'; blending into a cinematic moment from German electronic avant-garde band Popol Vuh, contributing to the soundtrack of Werner Herzog's 1972 movie Aguirre, the Wrath of God. The second part of theBenedict Cumberbatch narrated story 'Flat of Angles' closes time on this coolly individual edition of Late Night Tales.

You can all thanks mr gaz white for this one as he only the only copy of this on CD.. This was the last set that was recorded live before the opera house shut down and then became the 02 at that time we all thought slinky was no more.. but we lived to fight another day.
