Another Essential Mix from 2003 was from another Nu Skool Breaks legend Adam Freeland. Pretty much the height of his career at this time with so many tunes under his belt from his label Marine Parade and so many bootlegs under different alias's it was a healthy time for the breaks scene and much loved by all.

This mix was aired on BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix from Adam Freeland back in 2003.

This mixtape was one of the only produced "All Scott Henry" mixtapes meaning both sides are mixed by the legend.  The only other one I know of is the "Way Out West" mixtape.  This album came out as a giveaway at a Holiday Buzz in 1997 and contains tracks Scott was playing frequently at Buzz: Nations Night Club in Washington DC. as Fever in Baltimore was closed at the time.

This is the First in a series of three amazing mix tapes to promote the club night called Buzz held at Nations nightclub in Washington DC on Friday nights. Theses mixes were intended to capture the sound of Buzz vs. the sister nightclub Fever held at the Paradox in Baltimore on Thursday evenings. This mixtape was released in 1993 with DJ Lieven DeGeyndt on the A Side.  

This is side B of 'Catch The Buzz' Volume 1. Mixed by Scott Henry.
The mixtape given out to the first 500 people through the door at Buzz on Friday October 8th, 1993.

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. Here's how it works.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.

This is storytelling on a giant canvas, and in 2024 we will be adding visuals and further live instrumentation to these RE:CONSTRUCTED sets.
