Double Exposure - Everyman (Apple Juice Kid and Carnnibal Remix)

I got the opportunity to officially remix this classic song to coincide with the release of a new Donny Hathaway box set. I was given the original multitrack master of the studio version (different from the live version)and it consisted of 8 different instrument and vocal tracks (as opposed to the more usual 24 tracks) 
When I take on a remix, my first goal is to make it work on a current dance floor. I like to stay very close to the originally recorded sound and In most case there's plenty to be reworked on the multitrack master to achieve this. 
This case proved a little different as there were few rhythm elements I could use to fit within current standards of club loudness levels. So I decided to take a slightly different approach, and add a new set of (acoustic) drums,  to bend the original Soul vibe a little towards Disco territory.

Pal Joey is one of NYC’s true sample-based music production legends. He has produced a diverse assortment of hits for artists such as Boogie Down Productions, Deee-Lite and The Orb.  This unprecedented 7-inch single has assembled two of his best-known solo efforts: "Hot Music" the Hip Hop/House crossover banger and "Dance" the groundbreaking House classic together as they were originally released in 1989. These timeless tracks show no signs of aging from their late '80s origin, both are still in heavy rotation with club DJs today.  This never before seen on a 7-inch pressing is a limited and fully licensed Dopebrother Edition. This release is both a collector's item and a serious weapon on the dance floor.
