The Culprit Brothers is a musical collaboration between N G Hammer based in Copenhagen and Patrik Örngren based in Stockholm. The creative process is very "spur of the moment"-based and rely on different moods along the way that lay the foundation for the end result. I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...

I've become addicted to drone. Again. I was the kid with his head on the piano, listening to the overtones die away, or pressing his ear to the steel hull of the ferry, enthralled by the sounds it created. I was the kid who formed wordless songs to accompany the sound of train wheels on a long journey, or hummed along with the fan on a hot day.

In the 60s I used to play my 45s on 16, or backwards, or by hand using razor blades as stylii.

I made cut-up tapes on a cheap cassette recorder in the 70s and experimented with reel-to-reel in the 80s.

I am not a musician. I am a scavenger of sounds. I use the most basic software to process those sounds, stretching and filtering until something emerges that makes a joyful noise. Or not...
