Hmmmmm...I wonder what could have inspired THIS track?  

(It would help you to answer this correctly if you were aware that Phantom Laboratories West is based in Seattle...)  

A rather mellow vibe for a Tuesday.  I tried very hard not to overload this track with the maximalism that many Interbay tracks tend to showcase.  I kept my eyes on the prize and not clutter up a clear vision for what this song could be.  

Melancholy.  Resigned to accept the way things are.  Constant.  

Two things I'll point out about the arrangement.  What sounds exactly like a melodica is actually a soprano sax, and, yes, those are the same pizzicato stabs that Enya used on "Orinoco Flow" (not a sample, I just have access to the Roland D-50 sounds that was used for the Enya hit.  

Lyrically, this is more about mood and atmosphere (and props to Icarus for some excellent scavaging and appropriation on this track.)  You can read an awful lot into this track, if you want...  

"There is no pain.  There is no grief.  There is no hope."  Not my words, but they could be--as I definitely find this strange combination resonates strongly with me.  

Maybe they will for you, too?  (Maybe they won't, but you should still enjoy the vibes and the groove.)

If you could give this a listen, you'll find out.  I hope you'll give it a like, repost it, share it with friends, add it to a playlist, leave an encouraging comment...all of those seem to help this crazy Interbay music project a great deal--and your enthusiasm is definitely appreciated.  

Most of all, if you haven't already, I'd ask you to consider following this page.  You'll be treated to some fresh Interbay served up EVERY SINGLE DAY (so far!--and we're closing in on getting to 700 consecutive days with new Interbay tracks being dropped, so I feel confident that you won't ever starve for new Interbay music.  Which is nice.)  

We are readying the PLW Mobile Unit for a few days.  Who knows how the change of scenery will influence the tracks made while away from home?  (It may sound a lot different than what the Pacific Northwest tends to inspire...but we'll see...)
