It's not music for faint hearted, or music aimed at infiltrating popular playlists, this is music for the those who truly appreciate the finest aspects of these incredible genres themselves and at every point "To Have & Have Not" from start to finish keeps it's roots set firmly in the music’s underground foundation.

The album delivers with an unfaltering intent and truly demonstrates Jubei’s incredible versatility with tracks that traverse & transcend from one corner of the music to the next with an almost effortless and misleading ease.

Each composition is within its own right a standout highlight. The track list includes a ridiculous amount of jaw-dropping collaborative talent. Credits for example see Jubei once again call on the vocal prowess of Flowdan for the LP’s massive follow up to past release "Say Nothing" entitled "The Moment". "State of the Art" flips the script at 170+ with SP:MC on vocal duties. Further co production credits on the album bring Jubei together the forces of Goldie, D-Bridge & Youngsta just to name a few.

Albums like this don’t come along every day and whilst some artists now imitate with sights set firmly on commercial success only a select few can originate whilst continuing to cross boundaries so consistently.

SVB invites Lifestyle Music - Ill Truth & MC Bluejay Promo Mix

Two of Detached Audio's most revered artists, K2T and Option, have come together after the successes of their respective solo EPs, "Starscape", and "While I'm With You”, released earlier this year. The resulting “Lush Life” EP presents the perfect follow up to their first collaborative track, ‘Everything I Need’. Consisting of two collaborations, alongside remixes of each other's pieces, this EP displays that these two work together in perfect harmony.

The title track, ‘Lush Life’, introduces this EP with a pristine slice of atmospheric Drum & Bass, as the duo do best. Gentle pianos are backed with a rolling bassline and ethereal pads, creating a tune that would fit perfectly into the sets of many liquid DJs.

The two contrasting tracks demonstrate his diversity as one of the scenes top emerging artists. His background as a guitarist is a thread that consistently runs through his production, which adds a live and natural feel to much of his work. As a trained sound engineer working at a renowned studio, his experience from recording an eclectic array of bands adds a different dimension to his approach when making Drum n Bass. Working towards his debut album, this release is the first taste of things to come.
“The Place” - Teaming up once again with the soulful Vanity Jay, this track takes you on a journey of moods. From pensive and smooth to edgy and deep this track holds you on the edge of your seat as you travel through the soundscape. Distilling these elements down into the DJ Edit (included in the digital release) delivers a more club friendly version.
“Always There” - Known for his love of Amen breaks, Madcap brings his rolling jungle style to the mix on this energetic B side. Uplifting horns, retro guitars and bluesy vocals keep this fast paced record moving until the last bar.

Scott grew up in Seattle, Washington (USA), and was a big music lover at a young age. At 10 years old, he fell in love with new wave music and the synth-driven tunes of the early 80’s. A couple of years later, he began a new passion, collecting Hip-Hop music. 

When Scott was 18 years old, he moved to the L.A. area to attend college and play water polo at Chapman University. When he moved into his dorm room he met his future deejay partner and Neosoul band partner, Tim Andren. Scott and Tim would spend hours talking about music and seeing who could supply the best, most underground Hip-Hop tune with the most addictive beats and sounds. During this period in his life, Scott was introduced to Breakbeat, Hardcore Breaks, early Jungle, and Ambient Dub Music. Scott immediately fell in love with the overall feel and freedom of the music.

At about the age of 21, Scott and his roommates bought their first set of turntables and the passion for the music grew into an intense love. About 2 weeks after he bought his turntables, he was already circulating his mix tapes and getting booked to play at clubs and parties in L.A. After a year or two of playing local shows, Scott began playing shows all over the USA and Canada, exposing these areas to the Neosoul breakbeat sound. He was fortunate enough to play alongside such heavy-hitting acts as DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Bassbin Twins, Simply Jeff, and many other big names.

When the breakbeat scene slowed down around 2001, Scott went back to his roots in electronic music and began enjoying the sounds of Jungle music, only now the music was more refined. He began to go to Drum & Bass events and would catch LTJ Bukem & Conrad, and the rest of the Good Looking crew every time they would perform in the Southern California area. He was drawn to the melodic, jazzy, and ethereal sounds of Drum & Bass music, and he especially liked it with Conrad hypnotically weaving his lyrics over the tunes. He began collecting Drum & Bass records and also started producing Drum & Bass in about 2004. It was also around this time that Scott further developed his passion for Reggae and Dub music. You can definitely hear the influence that these genres of music have had in his music.

His production became more serious when people started hearing his songs and began to show interest in wanting more of his sound. After a few years of producing and getting a number of tracks signed to major labels, Scott decided to start his own label, Soul Deep Recordings. Since Soul Deep’s inception in January 2011, the label has seen a great amount of success and has been established as one of the top Liquid/Deep/Jazzy labels in the music game. 

In addition to releasing many EP’s on Soul Deep, Scott has released music on a number of other top labels including, Fokuz, Celsius, Good Looking, Smooth N Groove, Telluric, Celsius, Soul Rebel, Jazzsticks, Phuzion, Liquid V, Atmomatix and Sheer Velocity.
