Porta Alpina is the follow up to Lex, the brilliant debut EP from Transmission Collective. Featuring two original tracks from one third of the collective, Maru, along with remixes from the other two thirds, Kahwe and Wolf Cub, it further showcases the trio’s forward thinking, soulful take on house music.

Porta combines a shimmering melody with a contemporary take on old school house percussion, wound together beautifully around an infectious vocal sample – all you have to do is say yes. Second track Alpina is another slick piece of deep, dancefloor friendly house music, effortlessly blending dreamy vocal snippets with punchy percussion and some killer low end to create an absolute bomb.

On remix duties are label co-chiefs Kahwe and Wolf Cub, who remix Porta and Alpina respectively. Kahwe highlights the peak-time potential of Porta with his remix, kicking the percussion up a notch and twisting the vocal sample in the brilliant breakdown. Meanwhile Wolf Cub takes things deeper with his take on Alpina, stripping it bare before the brooding bass stabs kick back in to turn the track into a serious late night jam.
