The guru is so vast and infinite that to consider the guru solely as a teacher or guide is very limited. When we cherish the guru, we cherish the fact that we have a mind and the ability to be aware. This constant flow of awareness is the quintessential guru, but it needs to be revealed and nurtured by our immediate gurus and our lineage gurus. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche was the emanation of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and the guru of many great teachers from different lineages. When we remember him on the anniversary of his parinirvana, we create the conditions to come closer to our innate guru.

Roy Masters (born 2 April 1928) is a British-born American conservative talk-radio show host, best-selling author, and Founder of the Foundation of Human Understanding. Masters is host of Advice Line, the longest-running counseling show in talk radio history. 

Roy Masters was born and grew up as Reuben Obermeister in London. Masters worked as a diamond cutter and gem expert after relocating to the United States in 1949. Several years later in 1952 Masters met and married his wife, Ann. They moved from Birmingham, Alabama, and settled in Houston, Texas where they had four children.

In 1960, Masters became America's first radio counselor after starting Advice Line, which is a nationally syndicated, conservative radio program. Around this time, Masters began teaching an exercise called, "Your Mind Can Keep You Well," designed to help people transform spiritual and emotional suffering into understanding.

In 1961 Roy Masters founded the Foundation of Human Understanding in Los Angeles[8] In 1983, Masters moved his family and the Foundation from Los Angeles to Tall Timber Ranch in Selma, Oregon, near Grants Pass, Oregon. Masters holds regular church meetings called Sunday Conversations in Grants Pass and Selma, along with other meetings that vary from a Bible studies group, to men's and women's discussion groups.

In the late 1980s, Masters was accused of swaying people using hypnosis. In 1992, he wrote in a statement of faith that his work is the antithesis of hypnosis, and he has explained that "we need to dehypnotize people under the spell of charlatans, politicians, and authority figures who have programmed them."

In 2006, Masters published a theory of physics concerning gravity, electricity, and alternative energy technology. On March 9, 2007, he made a 12-minute presentation, "Electricity from Gravity," to the American Physical Society in Denver, at an open forum for the public to propose new ideas that contradict current conventions in physics.

Masters has appeared on CNN's Crossfire, Larry King Live, The Sally Jessy Raphael Show, Sean Hannity's WABC Show, and The Drudge Report. A short segment of an interview with Masters was used in a PBS television documentary entitled Death In America, in which Masters discusses social, cultural and religious attitudes relating to how Americans dealt and currently deal with illness and death throughout American history.
