This track contains buzzing flies.

In the mountains in Los Angeles County, I came across a congregation of hoverflies "singing" in a cement drainage below the dirt fire road. The hoverflies would land on the cement or nearby rocks and vibrate their wings to produce the primary sound heard in the recording. This track is a shorter sample of a 15 minute recording session and is edited with a low cut and brief fade in/out. The low electrical buzzing you hear is from power lines above the road. You can also hear a bird who came to investigate.

Rysslands anfallskrig i Ukraina hade pågått i 550 dagar när den för krigsinsatsen högst väsentliga legosoldatarmén Wagners ledare, den av Kreml fördömde oligarken Jevgenij Prigozjin, sågs falla mot döden i sitt kraschande flygplan. 

Alla blickar riktades mot experter och bedömare för svar om hur den mordiske Prigozjins död skulle påverka Ukrainakriget, Ryssland i allmänhet och Vladimir Putins presidentskap i synnerhet.

Västländernas huvudstrategi för att stoppa den ryska krigsinsatsen i Ukraina via ekonomiska sanktioner hade inte lyckats, och Prigozjin var en högst bidragande orsak till varför. Rysslands förmåga att komma undan framkallade bistra miner inte minst i Sverige, som iögonfallande nog konstaterades svagare än Ryssland i tillväxtligan, trots att dess ekonomi försatts under vad som kallats för den hårdaste sanktionsregimen i världshistorien. 

Idén att nyttja ekonomiska sanktioner snarare än Nato-soldater för att få ett snabbare slut på aggressionen och därmed undvika att ånyo utlösa världskrigsliknande scener i Europa, hämmades av att Ryssland framgångsrikt lyckats kanalisera om rovdrift från, och råvaruförsäljning till, andra länder än tidigare.

Attentatet mot Prigozjin och de övriga Wagner-ledarna ombord bäddade nu för en ny stor maktkamp långt bortom Ryssland, på det södra halvklotet där Moskva strävat efter - och fått - maktgrepp via ombud genom legosoldaternas överinseende. Men var det maktgreppet borta nu, efter Prigozjins död?
