A selection of Acid and House tunes from 1988 to 1990 mixed by me. Back to when the raves began and the music started getting exciting. I did this mix and first uploaded it online in 2011, but as of from December 2013 iv re-mixed it and its now improved. Iv got this mix on a couple of sites and the original version i did of this has been quite popular on YouTube. Even tho the original version has been one of my most popular mixes, (apart from my breakdance mix) there was a couple of areas of sloppy mixing, but most significantly after listening to it on a particular occasion i realised just how bad the audio quality was and i wasnt totally happy with it so i thought id try and rectify that, so iv totally re-mixed it (almost identically with only a few minimal changes) and its also now extended with two extra tunes on the end.     This mix is now a better experience ! 

As i say the original copy was bad quality and even when i then put this re-mixed version on YouTube it still had a slight few distorted areas on a couple of tunes, but this is the nice clean copy of it with no issues.
(Altho in hindsight i have put to much sparkle on it in my music producing software, but iv learnt from that since to be abit more minimal with it)

Old Skool Classic Acid / House 1988 to 1990 Mix Part 1

Just a little thing I've been playing on the keyboards, so I thought I'd put a beat to it and stick it up here for you guys. Some mellow strings and chords too. (Just for those that may ask, original by Sigur Ros and Chicane also done a wicked mix of this too.)

Deep 8 are back for the summer and kickin off with a monster release from Mode Nine feat Damon Trueitt the voice of club classic "I Refuse" by Somore. First up on remix duty a man that needs no intro, house legend Grant Nelson who drop his classic sound that will take you back to the old dayz. Next up Billy Kenny who goes a little darker and deeper for those 4am floors. Last up Andi Rivera a guy on a tear recently. This is a rock solid package and not to be missed, this is essential for your summer soundtrack.

Laurent Garnier - Excess Luggage (Sonar 2000)

Breakin / Electro / Funk. A selection of predominantly Breakdance and Electro tunes from the early 80's mixed by me, and some of my fave tunes from the Breakdance Movies i used to watch as a kid. Iv got this mix elsewhere online and is quite popular on YouTube, but this is a longer version compared to the copy on YouTube, and with enhanced sound quality.

I put alot of time and effort into preparing and mixing this.You can certainly hear in these old tunes how they was a pre cursor for house music.Lots of the beats and samples then went on to be used in the 80's house and early 90's hardcore tunes that followed.

A tune that i produced...Iv dabbled with making a handful of tunes,and this is probably the tune im most proud of or its the best iv made,and its the first where i tried to learn a little about chord progression beforehand. I just wish id mastered and EQ'd it better at the time,cos thats where it suffers,but its quite hard to master tunes. Altho i know id do it better this time around. It also suffers a little with the vocals being a little out of time in places,but its still a tune that overall has alot of thought and effort been put into it which is what counts..Iv certainly proved to myself iv got potential..Unlike some people who throw a tune together very quickly and sounds minimal with not much creation or musicality gone into it.

Well seeing as this site is prodominently about music then thats all il mention. Been into dance music since it began really since the late 80's and it come along at just the right time really just as i was becoming a teenager. Listened to the american house at that time,chicago house,detroit house etc,then seemed to naturally progress into listening to acid house and the hardcore/breakbeat/rave sound that started not long after that. And so from then and until now iv always been into house and electronic music in general. Became intrested in the dj aspect and mixing music and i certainly felt the buzz of what doing that can create and make you feel inside,but its always only been a hobby. I also got my hands on some music producing software and dabbled with that.A lot of the music iv been making has tended to have alot of old flavours in them,i think thats because i kind of wanted to show abit of integrity to show how long iv been into dance music,and because of having a bit of a fondness for all those old dance tunes i grew up on.

After doing a title search on here for my own mixes, iv noticed there is some people that re-upload my mixes to their own page. So just a notice to those people and to whom ever else it may concern, im not sure if they/you do it as a compliment to me cos you like my mix and you are just putting my mix out to a wider audience, or if you re-upload it to try and claim the mix is your own creation..............Well i hope it's not the latter!!!!!
