Debuted at Group Therapy Weekender 2019, Above & Beyond’s new bi-annual camping festival at The Gorge Amphitheatre outside of Seattle, this angel sounds far from heaven sent.

Another example of Above & Beyond’s recent attraction to tougher, tenebrous sounds this year (consider ‘Waltz’, ‘Distorted Truth’, ‘There’s Only You’ and the resurgent tech-trance sounds of Genix on Anjunabeats), ‘Another Angel’ is released worldwide on Friday, November 22.

Warping minds and dancefloors from New York to Prague, accompanied by a titanic visual that’s unnervingly similar to Dr Who’s most terrifying antagonist, ‘Another Angel’ samples the band’s own 2011 single ‘On My Way To Heaven’ from their acclaimed album ‘Group Therapy’.

The unmistakable and usually strident vocal work of Richard Bedford here sounds almost plaintive and cowed, surrounded on all sides by shuddering, cascading bass. Things culminate in a breathtaking drop that somehow manages to be quintessential Above & Beyond and something totally fresh at the same time.

Telling a poignant tale of a love that wasn’t quite to be and serving as a stark reminder of the trials and tribulations of modern relationships, ‘Love Is Not Enough’ (from Above & Beyond’s acclaimed 2011 studio album ‘Group Therapy’) has stood the test of time as one of Jono, Tony and Paavo’s most memorable compositions of the decade. As we approach the twentieth anniversary of Anjunabeats next year, it was more than overdue to let Fatum’s groove-fuelled rework out of the vault - first heard during Above & Beyond’s blockbuster Group Therapy 300 set in Hong Kong.

The Fatum remix of ‘Love Is Not Enough’ is out now on the Anjunabeats Worldwide 09 compilation, meticulously crafted by Damion Houchen (aka Genix) and presented as an explorative journey through the techno, progressive and trance sounds that have informed him and our label’s output this year. Featuring three records that have soundtracked Above & Beyond milestone Group Therapy celebrations over the decade, Jono, Paavo and Tony close 2019 with the ‘Out Of Time’ EP. 

A sought after fan favourite, debuted during ABGT100 live from Madison Square Garden, ‘Out Of Time’ was the final track finished for 2015’s ‘We Are All We Need’. While the club rework has percolated among A&B mixes over the last 5 years, the remastered extended mix and edit are now available for the first time.

Another record that has evolved throughout its life time, ‘Is It Love?’ first aired during ABGT200 in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome as the instrumental ‘1001'. With Jono himself providing a 80’s indie-electronica vocal for the track's appearance on ‘Common Ground’, the ‘Is It Love?’ club mix has become a euphoric moment in the trio's sets since 2017. 

Completing the package is the return of an iconic Richard Bedford vocal, played first at Group Therapy 250 and then featuring on this year's Anjunabeats Volume 14 compilation, the Gorge Update of Above & Beyond ‘Alone Tonight’.
