Working on getting Blacking Out down, we started playing it a little differently. I'm so out of practice. Roddy on CP-70, Barb on guitar, and Scott on violin. Maybe we'll be able to assemble something in the future that'll do justice to the live perfomance? Maybe.

This is a collaboration I did with Roddy Shrock. It is a 20 minute long improvisation done in two independent takes which were mixed together with only some level adjustments, but without any editing. Each take generally occupies one half of the soundfield. 

The guitar was played by Scott and recorded through a Lexicon 284 and Manley ELOP with a Maestro Parametric Filter. The Mac was played by Roddy and he used a bunch of stuff that I don't really understand. It was mixed on an 02r.

Jim Soloway is a luthier and fingerstyle jazz guitarist. We were discussing the ins and outs of DI recording and amp sims, both hardware and software. I asked him to send a track to do a demo mix, and it just so happened that he had just completed a guitar for himself as he is about to retire. This is that guitar's first recording, direct with an array of harmonic processing, both ITB and out.
