John Tejada returns on June 20th with his debut full length for Kompakt, "Parabolas" and we're offering up a free download of "Subdivided" from the album! Enjoy. 

Resident Advisor called Tejada “one of the most notoriously meticulous producers around" — an unmistakable proof lies within these recordings. Genres collide and combine with an unraveling of blissful layers on “Parabolas”. The opening track, “Farther & Fainter,” offers a musicality today's techno and house often lack — an accomplishment that resonates throughout the album. Tracks such as “Subdivided” and “Unstable Condition” reflect the wondrousness of Aphex Twin’s Polygon Window project, something that could only be reanimated and brought to 2011's standards by Tejada.

“Parabolas” is a true highlight in John Tejada’s deep catalogue. Bold words indeed for a producer who is known for unexpected variation and tremendous musical imagination.

Friends since the PULP years, Jennifer Cardini and David Shaw have joined forces for a phenomenal project which will bring the dance floor walls crumbling down!
Their first encounter was at the Pulp, 10 years ago, where they spent the entire night (well almost) talking about their mutual taste for bands like Joy Division, the Smiths, Etienne Daho , Stinky Toys...to create their bonds which took a decade to actually emerge . It was the fantastic documentary “Paris is Burning”, which introduces the Voguing scene in New York in the 80’s, which inspired “In The Ballroom” and “Pepper Labeija”, the first fruit of their collaboration.

Theta Eridani (θ Eri, θ Eridani) is a star in the constellation Eridanus. It has the traditional name Acamar from the Arabik Ākhir an-nahr which means "the end of the river“.

Acamar's distance from Earth as measured by the Hipparcos astrometry satellite is approximately 120 light-years.
Ptolemy described Acamar as a first-magnitude star, which some have taken to be in fact Achernar, which today appears just above the horizon in Alexandria where Ptolemy lived.
Achernar, however, was not visible to Ptolemy (it is from Alexandria today due to procession); its declination in 100CE was -67, making it invisible even at Aswan. Ptolemy's Eridanus thus without doubt ended at Acamar, which rose about 10 degrees above the horizon from Alexandria. This fact besides positively identifying Acamar as the original "end of the river", also strengthens the case for Acamar having been first magnitude in ancient times.

Longevity for the most part, is not something that’s usually associated with electronic music, a genre that moves so fast it often leaves those who stop to pause for breadth in its wake. Thus for a track to still get the reaction that Moonbootica’s ‘June’ does – despite the Hamburg duo playing it in every single set they’ve delivered for over a decade – is a stunning testament to the cut’s enduring appeal.

Having decided to finally breathe in some fresh life into their signature tune with a number of new new interpretations not only from themselves but Teenage Mutants, Ante Perry, Tagteam Terror and Hell Yes last summer, the veteran pairing have now decided to repeat the trick this winter, drafting in Animal Trainer, Italo Brutalo, Sharam Jey, Topspin and Étienne de Crécy to deliver another set of reworks guaranteed to get you thawing out those boogying muscles.
