SNS Online Series 6 - Brad Wolfe

Minute Taker, AKA Manchester-based singer-songwriter Ben McGarvey, is known for his nostalgia-fuelled synth-pop songs and haunting, ethereal vocals. 

His latest 80s-inspired album WOLF HOURS includes the singles Lead You Home, The Darkest Summer and After The Rain (featuring BRIGHT LIGHT BRIGHT LIGHT) which has received airplay on BBC Radio 2. 

The album’s music videos are taken from an audiovisual show he toured in 2019-20, also called WOLF HOURS, which explores the psyches of gay men at different point in time. 

Aside from two previous acclaimed albums, official remixes for YAZOO & ERASURE, and collaborations with fellow synthwave artists COLOR THEORY, LAU, 3FORCE, WALTER ALIENSON & MEGAN MCDUFFEE, Minute Taker has gained a reputation for his inventive cover versions of classic songs by some of his favourite artists including Kate Bush, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Tori Amos & Pet Shop Boys. Many of these were recorded exclusively for Secret Songs, a series of homemade albums available for fans via a Patreon-esque subscription service.

- SNS Online started its life as a weekly hour long LGBTQ+ magazine/music show ('ScratchNSniff', hence 'SNS'!) on national Irish dance music station, RTÉ Pulse - running on and off for four years. Since then the show has evolved as an online showcase for actors, musicians, journalists, authors, script writers, stand-up comedians and more - all in the form of in-depth one-to-one interviews - all fully illustrated with archive audio & music. These are independent podcasts produced to the highest professional standards and non-profit making/also unhindered by advertising. Nick himself describes SNS Online as an 'audio love letter' to all who take part. But don't take his word for it - dive in!

- SNS Online's Nick Randell has worked in radio/TV sound for 30 years at the BBC. He has also presented for the BBC World Service - 'Pop Phrases' (a 20 part BBC English series), the UK top ten for the Azeri stream (in English, not Azeri!), radio packages for numerous BBC regions/World Service, and finally, Irish national, RTÉ (four series of weekly hour shows - music/features/guests Weds 7-8pm). 

- TV appearances Blue Peter, Newsround, The One Show (BBC One), Gaytime TV (BBC Two), The Working Life (ITV). 

- Was once described as 'some BBC suit' by The Guardian's Media Monkey, after Nick wrote a letter to Ariel which got misinterpreted.
