Musik funktioniert über Gefühl. Möge sie auch von Trends und funktionierenden Formeln erfolgreich gelenkt werden, ist sie im Kern vor allem zeitlos und jedes Jahrzehnt fügt ihr diverse neue Akzente hinzu. Voller Leidenschaft weiß der Dresdner Produzent Cana diese in seinen Hip Hop inspirierten Sound mit einzustreuen, ohne sich dabei auf ein eindeutiges Genre festzulegen. Meist mit einem atmosphärischen Unterton versehen treffen Samples aus alten Filmen auf knackige Bässe und 8-bit Arpeggios. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail widmet er sich komplexen Arrangements, die sich dem Zuhörer bei der Wahrnehmung des Gesamtkunstwerkes nicht aufdrängen. Lässt man die akustische Reise zu, bieten sie dennoch ein erfrischendes Wechselspiel aus Licht und Schatten.

Seit nunmehr 15 Jahren bewegt sich Cana im geschätzten Windschatten seiner musikalischen Kollegen und wirkte in dieser Zeit auf fünfzig Releases mit, von denen er drei ganzheitlich produziert hat. Der Index dieser zahlreichen Zusammenarbeiten umfasst nicht ganz unbekannte Namen wie Gossenboss mit Zett, Kollege Hartmann, Neustädter Harz, Weekend, Rockstah, und Vandalismus aka Degenhardt.

Der Dresdner Soundästhet verbindet auf der Bühne Film, Licht, Klang und Liveanimation zu einer Symbiose, welche es versteht die Trennlinie zwischen Realität und Fantasie ein wenig zu verwässern. Als Referenz dienen hier zahlreiche Liveauftritte und DJ-Gigs im Raum Dresden sowie diverse Reiseaktivitäten in die Clublandschaft von Leipzig, Chemnitz und Berlin.

2006 begann RBYN ganz klassisch mit zwei Turntables aufzulegen und kann nun mittlerweile auf 10 Jahre Erfahrung hinter den Decks zurückblicken. Seitdem hat er schon in diversen Locations in ganz Deutschland gespielt und sich stilsicher durch viele Subgenres der Bassmusik gewobbelt.
Mittlerweile wohnt er in Berlin und hat mit der H.O.M.E. seine eigene Partyreihe am Start, die sich um die basslastigen Musikgenres Trap, Juke und Drum & Bass kümmert.

Better Than Gold - Snippet Vol. 1 (Preview)

@Scratchynski’s musical journey started in with techno in 1998 and faded into house in the early 2000s. From 2008 on, Dubstep and Grime dominated his musical interest. That led to the monthly event series ‘Sub der Republik’, from which the Sub Sickness crew emerged. That strongly influenced the Dresden bass music scene as they provided top-class guest performances by Mala, Om Unit, Kahn, Eprom, and many more. As musical style boundaries never were Scratchynski’s thing, his selection of electronically infected Hip Hop á la Flying Lotus and the Gaslamp Killer in combination with the first Footwork releases already met wide-open ears at the time. This is particularly true for the Funky Monkey events, when Scratchynski, DNZ, and east enter the DJ Spaceship and play entire nights together on 4 decks and 3 mixers. His solo sets are characterized by all the influences that shaped his musical path - an eclectic mix of Hip Hop, Glitch, Juke, Future Beatz, and a good portion of bass. You can hear it regularly on the @InfiniteSequence series and the corresponding monthly podcast. Besides his activities as DJ and promoter, Scratchynski is one of the founders of the Dresden based DAVE Festival.

The formula of his podcast consists of a well-balanced mixture of Rap, Grime, UK & international Drill, Dubstep, and thumping beats and is rounded up to perfection with razor-sharp transitions, that will make a DJs heart jump in excitement. Make sure there is enough space in your headroom (see what I did there?) so you won’t injure yourself while frantically throwing your skull around to this!
