Calling Out To You, the second single from Timothy Nelson & The Infidels' sophomore album Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It, finds the award-winning Perth songwriters at their hook-laden best. Following on from previous single Mary Lou, Calling Out To You yet again finds Timothy Nelson & The Infidels with a pop anthem on their hands.

Produced by Eskimo Joe's Joel Quartermain, one of the most successful Australian songwriters of the past decade, Calling Out To You is at the high-end of the craft; a deliciously catchy slice of pop that brings together big, unmissable vocal hooks with a hypnotic beat and clever instrumentation.

On the surface, Calling Out To You sticks to time-honoured lyrical fair – love – presented with the requisite amount of sizzle courtesy of Nelson's Motown-soaked falsetto vocals. Closer examination, however, reveals a darker subject matter at hand, with themes of addiction and desperation adding darker and more poignant undertones to the song. Indicative of the rich and colourful album it belongs to, Calling Out To You has a playful touch, but shows a distinct musical evolution in Timothy Nelson & The Infidels since their 2011 debut, I Know This Now. 

With bigger hooks, bigger sounds and better playing than ever before, Timothy Nelson & The Infidels have seriously upped their game in order to make their new album their best one yet, and Calling Out To You is a perfect example of the results of their hard work.

Teacher's Pet is those kids at school that pretend to be best friends with the teacher to try and bump their self esteem or to manipulate their grades or even just because they don't have any other friends.
At first I found them annoying and at times amusing, but i came to find that it’s in my best interest to be friends with the teacher as it could in fact make school a tad easier. At the end of the day I feel we’re all teacher's pets and that doesn't matter."
