Amelie Lens’ EXHALE Records continues to deliver fiercely dynamic techno from the underground’s most promising, rising and established artists with its second VA compilation.

Following EXHALE’s first VA release in 2020, the party series turned label once again welcomes existing members, flourishing producers and blossoming new artists to the EXHALE family for its second various artists compilation.

Today we premiere a track from the ‘Civil Unrest’ Co-Founder, Kontain, who is one of 12 excellent artists to contribute to the exciting compilation. Hailing from the rural suburbs of Manchester, Elliott Ogden defines his infectious, bone shattering sound through his acclaimed alias 'Kontain'. Depicting rhythmically complex bass lines, underwritten by thunderous drums and injected with infectious vocal loops, his productions are instantly recognisable through their signature components.

For his contribution to the VA, Kontain dishes out ‘Neck Crank’, a hybrid of gritty rumbling bass chords, strident synths and an unwavering kick

Variant Electronic are delighted to be back in action with our 44th release by the amazing The Mark. In 2018, Variant Electronic discovered one of the most exciting and diverse acts since our conception in The Mark. This diverse artist has made a serious impact since joining Variant, with his first album Buried Alive, an incredible remix of Ethan Fawkes track Evolve, and the excellent Buried Alive Remixed LP. He has left no stones unturned, and has put his heart and soul (as usual) into this incredible album Just Like The Movie. Eight wonderful tracks, diverse, yet familiar. The Mark really has a talent for this, and at Variant, we are not going to let this man go, he is one of our main artists and it will remain this way if we have anything to do about it. Just Like The Movie is an immense album, very diverse, yet sticking to what The Mark knows best, hard to put words to, but its great music and that's what we are here for. From the introduction track Black Car all the way to the outro Motionless, this album will have you dancing on your own, ideally do it with people, but i can promise you thorough enjoyment from this, dare i say, masterpiece of art. I could go on and on at length about every track, but really, there is no point, the music says more then I ever could. So my advise is to sit back, chill, listen, and be brought into The Marks world of sound. We are also delighted to be able to provide you with a movie to go with this incredible album by Variance Musics in house video guy Dzukacorama, the movie will be on our Facebook and on YouTube do be sure to check it out, it really compliments the album making it more then music, this is an experience.

DREPT, an independent record label founded in 2016 with the purpose of exhilarating the local techno scene in Istanbul, coming up with its second compilation album. The album will be in a digital format with 10 tracks composed of local and foreigner producers that are supporting the scene.


By bringing together producers that compose various sounds of techno music in their new album, DREPT is once again playing an important role in developing the techno scene locally and worldwide.
