KANT translates to "edge" from Danish, referring to something unconventional, exciting and new, which doesn’t immediately fit inside a box and dares to be different. These characteristics perfectly sum up the music of young Copenhagen producer Joachim Schaarup-Jensen. After causing waves with releases on Katermukke, Suara and Kittball, we welcome KANT to Light my Fire with the excellent ‘Switch’ EP. 	

The title track ‘Switch feat. Anne Kim Thordson’ is a chugging house monster that focuses on a seductive female spoken-word accentuated by heavy hits, ominous synths and a pumping kick drum: reduced, yet lethal. Next, ‘Shook’ is more laidback as it revolves around a tropical Balearic theme with impressive flow. On their ‘Switch’ remixes, Artenvielfalt opt for a jazz-infused drum intro, which drops into a peak-time deep house groove to dazzling effect, while Kreature delivers an old school workout of 303-goodness. Danish dynamite!

The What You Sample / I Eat Beats EP is Billy Kenny’s first EP on his own co-run imprint, This Ain’t Bristol. Already gaining huge support from all across the board, these two sweetened and fruit-flavoured peak time bangers are accompanied by a juicy remix by non other than Dirtybird’s Ardalan. 

What You Sample’s kit shuffles it’s way into a hypnotic masquerade of melodic 808’s, calming the listener before hitting with some serious grit! This track shows off one of the deadliest reese basses known to mankind like it’s nothing, while keeping it’s cool in-between, creating a seesaw of volume and atmosphere.
 
A concerto of violins, gangster leads and talking warps are the main ingredients that “I Eat Beats” consists of. The epic orchestral break reverbs its way into the abyss and prepares you for the drops - yes, there's a few and they switch up constantly! We think it would do exactly what it said on the tin if it wasn’t a track in your playlist. 

Ardalan’s approach to I Eat Beats introduces even more strings than the original, one hell of a thumping kick and a piercing saw bass enough to rip the kevlar from a speaker cone! Upon the second breakdown, Ardalan shows us how to make a gangster lead even more gangster with a little G-Funk spin to it.
