“Delivering angsty, driving and dissonant alternative rock, but always with a solid melody at the core” Sea Driver are a four piece hailing from Kent/UK focused on sculpting eerie ear-worms from abrasive forlorn guitars bolstered by an ever evolving rhythm section.

I am an artist and musician and am just coming out of a somewhat creative hiatus of several years and am reengaging with making art and music. I never stopped playing or writing music. But, I stopped playing live, with others and putting my music or artworks “out there”…

I have been recording demos, or “sketches”, for several years, which consist of short acoustic/ instrumental pieces in loose folk stylings. They are usually recorded in one take or made up on the spot, sometimes in response to other sounds of the environment in which they are recorded. 

These consist of sounds from specific locations, TV and idle conversations. Primarily in houses I have lived in and people I have lived with. So, they’re all quite intentionally “lo-fi”. Some works consist of ambient sounds in which I most often respond with an acoustic guitar piece. Others may be ambient works from synths and percussion.

I am interested in the call and response between the sounds of an environment and an instrument. I think there is always something new to be found within the interplay of intentional and unintentional acts/sounds. Whether an idle conversation or an instrument.. they feel like a score arrangement to me.

I’ll be uploading several years of demos, sketches, notes, recordings and new pieces over the next several months.

Please note none of these have been produced or mixed/ levelled (probably significantly effecting their “listenability”) ! Apologies in advance for a garish scratch or bang in a recording that will make you wince or cut you to the core..
