I've been dreading to finish this. Both covers i've made so far sucked ass, and I was legit worried about how this would turn out. Same song. Same MIDI. Somewhat better composition skills, and a very vague idea of what I wanted it to sound like. I don't really like this that much. It's decent at best, but hey! At least it's not V2, which makes me want to commit baklava!

EDIT: Cynicial turned out to be a douche along with the rest of the UTSC! I hate this place!

Cynical left the USTC, and I'm pretty dang sad about it! His stuff was really good and inspired me to keep on pursuing music. This final renditon of Apathesia is supposed to be my goodbye gift. It's a huge improvement to Before I Die, with actual transcriptions, massive changes to composition, mixing that doesn't make your headphones explode, and most importantly, the beta strings B)

1 year ago today I was a stupid 8th grader who decided to pick up music as a hobby. I made shitty MIDI edits that took 2 days to make each, and was also a huge mess mentally! Now I make slightly less shitty MIDI edits that take over a week to make and am also slightly better mentally!


Now if I'm going to be completely honest I still absolutely adore V3. It's one of my few songs from the archive that has aged well! However, I felt like I had to redo it for the one year anniversary, as Androphonovania was the first song that I ever covered! So of course I gotta do it for that sweet sweet symbolism.

Halloween Special 2/2!!

Okay so you guys remember when I said back in June that V4 was my final Homicidal Lunacy cover?

Funny story right?

Lets be real. It actually sucked pretty hard. Mixing was atrocious to start, and that entire second half of the song was unnecessary. It was way too long and stuck out like a sore thumb. So I've decided to make this final verison of the song to finish the job (hehe). It (mostly) only uses the yummy 2018 nik composition, and I've put more effort into the sound design.

So behold! My true final Homicidal Lunacy cover! The CPU eater! The time waster! The reason I'll never get a girlfriend! Homicidal Lunacy V5!

Infernum is unironically one of the best things to come out of this community. And I've been trying to cover it for a while! I asked around for the MIDI but either nobody had it, or wasn't willing to give it out. Honestly in hindsight that was a good thing! This is the first song I've covered that I've solely transcribed without a MIDI or reference.

Anyways I decided to go for a more somber, final stand-ish feel for this one. Partially because it sounded cool, and partially because there is NO WAY I can make something that sounds nearly as good as the original. This is my final tribute to Scarlet Flare. It was fun while it lasted!

Pyrolysis: Final Stand

I don't think that I'm physically capable of topping Sociovania V3. It was emotional, had some really nice composition, and some atrocious mixing. So that's what this really is. V4 is an understatement this is really just me polishing V3 to make it match my current standards! You can actually hear the square bit, the drums are sampled, and some parts of the compositon are altered, such as the really shitty guitar solo.

A lot of my next songs are going to be mixy fixies and v2s/v3s. In fact, I only have 3 total new covers planned, and I might scrap two of them!

WOOOOO IT'S FINALLY DONE

This one actually took a while! I mean it only took 4 days but it was 4 days of mixing and misery.  V1 and V2 legit were both made in like a day so this sounds 4 times better by default! Though if I'm being honest I do feel like this definitely still has its flaws -- I'm just not really sure how to fix them! Please leave some feedback in the comments if you notice anything weird!

V2 is like 7 months old at this point. That feels kinda weird if I'm being honest!

I released my first Sheer Cold Justice cover exactly a year ago now. I remember awkwardly asking Fuunkyy if I could use their MIDI, then waiting until early Demember to start the song. I was SO proud to have a song that I spent like 2 weeks on! Now I can spend up to a month depending on how invested I am lol.
