Conquer New Lands is a fantasy/celtic song, meant to be played in the background of a scene. I wrote this song, imagining ships of vikings slowly sailing towards enemy shores. Although vikings were my inspiration for this song, I wanted it to be heavily celtic with a feeling of drama.

At the time I was composing this song, I had just got new pipe sounds and was really wanting to try it out. As you can maybe tell, I wasn't too good with pipes on keys back then.

Viking Music - Conquer New Lands

I've been wanting to compose a song with a strong choir presence along with strings and a harp. The strings work in an emotional manner and the drums sound very powerful. I feel this is the first powerful, emotionally intense, epic fantasy song I've ever written.

I was inspired to write this song after thinking about dragons and their place in the fantasy genre. They are the giants of the skies and the most memorable creatures ever created.

The crackling sound through out the song was not in the original video, so I don't know why you can hear it on YouTube. You can listen with the original quality on my Soundcloud page.

Well, I suppose it's time I lay this song to rest. It's been a long time in the making, almost 2 years in fact. Originally this was gonna be a collab between me and Mic the Microphone but that ended up falling through as neither of us worked on it. Almost a year later I used some guitar parts Veggie55 sent me and built this instrumental around it. 

After months of not getting this done and plenty of other personal conflicts that got in the way, I've decided to release it unfinished and let you guys do the honors. So please, go ahead and take your own shot at it. I will feature all covers in annotations on the video. Thanks again to Tombstone for writing such a great piece.
