Having grown up surrounded by music from an early age, Roland began to collect records in the late 80’s - new wave, hip hop, disco, ska and reggae. Around the same time, he was introduced to the sounds of house music which led to many late-night adventures in Toronto’s budding warehouse and afterhours scene.  From that developed a fascination with DJ culture and obsession with music.  

Over the past 3 decades, Roland has touched on the whole spectrum of dance music and developed his own unique style, which is firmly planted between the realms of disco, house and techno.  Roland has rocked dancefloors in a number of cities around the world and, as a promoter, continues to shine a light on under-the-radar international talent in Toronto.

I felt inspired to record a very disco-influenced mix today after Giovanni Damico shared a classic Blue Boy track (Funky Friday) on his page that I had totally forgotten about... I ended up going nuts, tearing through loads of disco-influenced records in my collection and concocted this. Totally crazy disco stuff, loosely-timed beats and funky as hell all the way. And yes, that Blue Boy track is featured ;)
