Chicago born and bred DJ and 4 Track Recordings (@4trkrecordings) founder Joseph Manumaleuna aka @DJ-Hyperactive needs no introduction to those versed in the history of Techno.

Honing his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s, DJ Hyperactive gained international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary venues of the last 20 years, including Orbit/ Leeds, Liquid Room/ Tokyo, Love Parade/ Berlin, Smart Bar/ Chicago, Interface/ Los Angeles, Movement/ Detroit, Output/ Brooklyn, Tresor/ Berlin, Berghain/ Berlin and more. 

He has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks, including classics such as ‘Venus’ & ‘Wide Open’ – Missile, ‘25HRs’ – Droid Recordings, “Music Box’ on his own imprint 4trk Recordings, ‘Chicago’ – Contact, Truncate, Figure, Blank Code, Impact Mechanics, Nachstrom Schallplatten, CLR, to name a few.

After a little break from podcasts, Hyperactive is getting back into rhythm with some mixes to kick off the new year. He is excited to showcase a bunch of new (and old) tunes, including a few that have recently released in Oct/Nov ’23 on 4Trk. Artists represented include Jason Patrick, the new duo Aliasing (Jason Patrick and DJ Hyperactive), and Kobe Dupree. Kobe’s “Stimulate | Iterate” EP will premiere 2.29.24 on 4 Track Recordings (aka 4Trk).
