"Plutonian Nights" was originally released on the El Saturn Records LP 'The Nubians Of Plutonia.' Written and Arranged by Sun Ra. Recorded in Chicago, 1958-1959.

"We’ve all been big fans of James Brown since we’ve been involved in music and have played ‘In The Middle’ regularly on our live tours. It felt like a natural fit for the Orlando project, particularly as we have added an Afro swing to the track. We first played the track with Orlando at a London gig last year and he got into it in the studio straight away – his sax solo here was the very first take. James Brown and his band loved Orlando when they saw him play in Ibadan back in the ‘60s and the two of them met up and talked at J.B.’s hotel. So, for lots of reasons, this felt like a natural one to include.”

Urban Waves Radio 26 - Radio Juicy

Episode 066 is ready for launch! On this weeks show we hit up the Trap 93 gig at The Stillery in Camden where Yazbeatz had a chat with super producer Sam Gellaitry after his headline show. They chopped it up about how the Scottish producer discovered his sound and got picked up by Soulection before exclusively un veiling the title of his forthcoming EP.

In our newest feature #PlanetNext, we showcased 3 consecutive tunes from the super talented Solboi, (who you may recall was formally known as PHNTM) if you haven’t heard his music before get ready for those feels. One week after each Meet the Movement entry I’ll be uploading a mix featuring strictly artists and affiliates from the movement I interviewed. These mixes are used as the background music for each interview, but I figure it’s well worth releasing them separately as well, as a celebration of the movement.

First up is of course Darker Than Wax. My focus for this mix was not only to feature a bunch of songs I like, but also to show DTW’s expansive sound, so the mix starts with chill and boom-bap Hip-Hop vibes but soon departs on a journey, before closing with Garage, House and experimental sounds.
