Sean Harold loves the X-Files. Some of his favorite episodes are (in no particular order): Bad Blood, Jose Chung’s From Outer Space, Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, and Monday. He really hopes they make another movie or even just bring the series back, but only if Monica Reyes isn’t in it. She was just awful.

Noted by The New York Times for his elegant playing, clarinetist and composer Vicente Alexim is a core member of Contemporaneous, a New York-based ensemble focusing on music by living composers. Vicente has been featured as soloist in performances of John Adams’ Gnarly Buttons in Carnegie Hall, and of his Concerto de Câmara with the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira Jovem.

The 2011 winner of Festival Tinta Fresca and the 2015 winner of the Robert Starer Composition Award, Vicente has received commissions by the Orquestra Filarmônica de Minas Gerais and Contemporaneous, among others. His compositions have been featured in numerous music festivals, including the Bard Music Festival, and the XVIII Bienal de Música Brasileira Contemporânea.

The music of Reynold Tharp has been described as “tone painting at its most adroit” evoked with “a prismatic palette” (Financial Times), and “gorgeous…a sensuous evocation of colors and atmospheres…. Not content to write textures that are merely interesting or surprising, Tharp concocts sounds that are also ravishing and intoxicating” (San Francisco Classical Voice). The New York Times called one piece “a winner” and added, “Elegant, airy and weightless figurations for an octet of strings, winds, brasses, piano and percussion were a stylish and fitting homage to Ligeti. The music also made you eager to hear more from Mr. Tharp….” 

Tharp’s music has been performed in the U.S., Europe, and Asia by groups such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra chamber players, New Juilliard Ensemble, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Minnesota Orchestra, Dinosaur Annex, Ensemble Dal Niente, Boston Modern Orchestra Project club concerts, Ensemble Diffraction, Orchestre Lyrique de Region Avignon-Provence, and the Nieuw Ensemble.  Recent highlights include the Hong Kong premiere of his music, the Korean premiere of his music at the Sejong Chamber Hall in Seoul, and a piano trio premiered by the Earplay ensemble in San Francisco in 2014. From the Financial Times: "Of the evening’s two premieres, the more memorable was Reynold Tharp’s Piano Trio, which may, all by itself, restore the primacy of melody to the chamber music format. The composer may evoke influences from the past in this richly harmonised opus, but he speaks in his own voice." About his piece A Backward Glance, the Nieuwsblad van het Norden wrote, "To me, the most exciting part of the evening was A Backward Glance by Reynold Tharp. With its more symphonic timbres, wide spans and beautiful rhythmic momentum, you could hear long lines and melodious lyricism even in the fragmentation"  In 2012, Albany Records released a CD by the Aletheia Duo entitled "Song of the Black Swan" of music inspired by nature, which includes his piece Chaparral. Jason McCormack grew up in Kingston, NY - the heart of the Hudson Valley - and is now based in the San Fransisco Bay area.  

Jason’s curiosity with music and sound spans two decades of performance, composition, and study. From 2008 - 2013 he contributed to dozens of record productions in the NY area as a mixing and tracking engineer. Today, his focus is composing for film and other visual media using music to tell stories.

flutist. wonderer. social media junkie. A native of Columbia, Maryland, Martha grew up in the Episcopal church as a choir girl. She started playing recorder seriously at 7, piano at 8, and the flute at 9 in public school. Martha attended Oberlin for flute and chemistry (2002-2007); studied in Paris in spring 2007; attended Purchase College for her Masters in Flute Performance (2007-2009); and finished her second Masters at Manhattan School of Music (Contemporary Flute Performance). She was based in Brooklyn, NY for over a decade and recently relocated to her hometown.

Native of Israel, Seltenreich has been performed by some of the world’s leading orchestras and ensembles, among them The Tokyo Philharmonic, The Israel Philharmonic, The Israeli Opera, and the Talea Ensemble. 
He has recently been commission by the Messiaen Festival in France, he has been offered a fellowship to the Aspen Music Festival (2016), and was invited to the soundSCAPE Music Festival in Italy (2016). Seltenreich was selected as an Associate Artist at Atlantic Center for the Arts’ residency with Georg Friedrich Haas (2016).  Seltenreich is the recipient of several domestic and international awards and is the youngest composer ever to be awarded the 1st prize in the Salvatore Martirano Composition Competition. Other distinctions include the Arthur Friedman prize for “an outstanding orchestral work” (2015) and the Frank Robert Abell Young Composer Competition for New Chamber Music (2015).
Seltenreich completed his Bachelor’s degree in music composition at Tel-Aviv University; and his Master’s degree at The Juilliard School in New York city under the direction of Matthias Pintscher.
