Born in Louisville, KY in 1979, Tyrohn Brooks aka “obitykenobi” considers himself a “true bi-product” of the legendary Soul Train Era. Influences include Motown, 70's R&B, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Disco, and Hip-Hop. At the age of 5 he expressed his love of music at Champs', the local skating rink through rollerskating as well as jam-skating. All throughout the 80’s, a solid music foundation with Michael Jackson was leading the influence. After the musical shift towards Hip Hop in the 90's, Ty hung up the skates and began pop-and-locking, breakdancing and eventually attended his first “massive rave” in Clevland, OH in 1998. The headliners included Fab 5 Freddy, Rob Base & DJ E Z Rock, Afrikaa Bambataa, and a guy named Q-Bert. The atmosphere is what would start a new chapter in his musical conquest. To see thousands of people dancing like their life depended on their moves was inspiring and he didn’t hesitate. He started attending parties all over the Mid-West and eventually found himself in Detroit in 2004, which he says, “Changed my life forever. I witnessed Stacey Pullen, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, and Jeff Mills, all in the same night and was even able to talk to each one of them!!”        
 
From there on he was sold on wanting to be able to produce the same energy as those musical-pioneers. “They completely set the bar for my standards.”
 
In 2009, he conceptualized and created the Disco Aliens brand, while forming with the original members and immediately became known all over the Mid-West and eventually throughout the country. Side projects included his first solo release on Transplant Recordings, “The Gift”, as well as a collaborative project, “The Dark Matter” with John Napier and featuring Visionary Artist, “Jumbie” providing vocals. Releases include, “Bounce” - picked up by Angel Alanis’ label White Noise, and “Barrel of Monkeys”. The group followed with another release under Spoiled Rotten Records featuring Lady Carol titled, “Peepr Man”.
 
In July of 2013, he moved to Los Angeles, CA and attended SAE Institute to study and learn the techniques of studio recording, console mixing, mastering, post production, sound for video games and a slew of other audio related trades. Since, he has diligently furthered his knowledge while becoming an Audio Engineer, studying under some of the most highly-respected industry names to date.

After completely severing all ties with the Disco Aliens due to directional differences, his sound has refined, he has curated his sets to fit his style, and it has proved to be a wise decision. “I had to stay true to myself, my integrity, and had to blaze a new trail.” 

From 2015 to the present, Ty has been a noble presence in the worldwide audio community, showcasing one of the most revolutionary plugins to date at NAMM, SonarWorks Reference 4, which is now called Sound ID. Keep your eyes peeled when it comes to this guy. You never know what he is going to do next. 

2021 was a breakout year for him as he celebrated 20 years on the 1’s and 2’s and made the crossover to broadcasting and streaming by developing the, "I Came to Get Down Radio" mix series which are each respectively, "their own grooves and subplots and can hold their own to any dance floor, but collectively tell a story of the journey that music has taken me through over the years."

Remix music! Bass music! Samples of your kids saying dumb stuff looped!

Lurchimus Maximus has been involved with music for nearly 16 years now. Beginning on the drums, and slowly working his way around to other instruments, he has just within the past 3 years begun the art of the mix. Applying his classical musical training to the world of electronic music allowed him to unlock his style at an alarming rate, thanks to the help of his mentors in the process, ObiTy Kenobi and LMNO. Just 9 months after he began learning how to mix tracks, he played 3 back to back shows, all 3 nights of Forecastle Festival 2009.  Playing anything from Ambient, Breakbeats, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Electro, Fidget House, Minimal, Progressive Techno, etc. he's bound to make you boogie, especially since he's begun to produce and remix tracks now as well!  

Alex Koenig is an experimental / electronic producer and drummer out of Louisville.  Despite a background playing in numerous metal bands in the late 90’s, he began pursuing a solo electronic project in 2002 incorporating a multitude of styles, often with a heavy influence of psychedelia.  

Landed two remixes on renowned Brooklyn hardcore band Candiria’s “Toying With The Insanities, Vol. 3” 12” in 2010.  Released two critically acclaimed records through AMDISCS: Futures Reserve Label, the first being “Nu.wav Hallucinations” in April 2013, which made numerous Best-Of-2013 lists (including Tiny Mix Tapes & Flavorwire) and was also played on the Rodarte, Sportmax, Céline, Ferragamo, and Lacoste runways for Fashion Week in Milan, New York, and Paris.

Released “Dream Sequins®” (★★★★1/2 on Tiny Mix Tapes) in 2014, which at one point was the 2nd highest-rated vaporwave album on RYM, under Chuck Person's "Eccojams", and is noted as "taking the genre into uncharted and stratospheric territory" (Ash Beks, The Essential). The title track garnered some attention after appearing in Bronze 56K Hardware’s ***TRUST*** DVD, as well as a long stint being played in Chipotle restaurants nationwide.  Additionally, “Dream Sequins®” provided the soundtrack to Alex Czetwertynski’s original light installation “Blurware” at the 2016 Day For Night festival in Houston.  The album has been regarded as a “cult classic” (Adrian Mark Lore, The Observer) and even made a fan out of Disney actor and titular voice of “Steven Universe”, Zach Callison.  

Contributed a remix of "Radio Breakdown" for psychedelic giants The Amorphous Androgynous (aka The Future Sound Of London) on their Record Store Day exclusive 2x12” “The Cartel”, alongside DJ Food, Youth (of Killing Joke), and Noel Gallagher on bass and guitar.  Organized the massive 22nd transmission of the Terminal Radio program on FutureMusic FM, recruiting the likes of FSOL, DJ Food, Youth, Mixmaster Morris, and Ishq to contribute exclusive mixes and material. 

Released a 4+ hour psychedelic DJ mix of retro video game music "Welcome To Warp Zone!" in 2014, which was met with much acclaim in both the music and gaming communities, and garnered high praise from The Needle Drop and FACT Magazine.  As of December 2019, “Welcome To Warp Zone!” is ranked #3 in RYM’s ‘Top DJ Mixes Of All-Time’.  

Remixed Cal Chuchesta’s “Cocoa” single for the bonus track on “The New CALassic” mixtape, which reached #1 on Audiomack in August of 2015, and shared collaborative space with Joji (Filthy Frank) and the late 3Pac.  Released a much-anticipated split LP “The Path To Lost Eden” (4.5/5 on RA) with t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者 on Dream Catalogue in 2015, spawning a fan-remix of the opening track by Zomby (XL Recordings).  

2017 saw the release of “Pharma”, Nmesh’s Orange Milk Records debut.  The double-album received remixes from a slew of notable artists, including Odd Nosdam, Traxman, and Humanoid (Brian Dougans of FSOL), as well as Orange Milk staples such as 食品まつり a.k.a foodman.  The release was a critical success, receiving a 8/10 from Exclaim!, a 4/5 from Resident Advisor, ★★★★1/2 from TMT, and a “decent 7” from The Needle Drop.  Gorilla vs. Bear ranked the album #58 on their ‘Albums Of 2017’ list.  PopMatters put it at number 10 in their list of ‘Best Avant-Garde and Experimental Music of 2017’.  

Curated the monolithic 100+ track charity compilation “Memories Overlooked: A Tribute To The Caretaker”, a collaborative effort of over 90 artists, paying tribute to Leyland Kirby’s long-running ambient project exploring memory loss, nostalgia and dementia via distorted pre-war ballroom music.

Nmesh has been featured in mixes from the likes of Gorilla vs. Bear, Dummy Mag, FACT, and Tiny Mix Tapes.  Airplay on Rinse FM, BBC Radio 6, NTS Radio, and KEXP in Seattle.
