The Wax Wreckaz are a DJ-/production-outfit hailing from Austria, Innsbruck to be exact. A small city surrounded by mountains, green meadows filled with cows in summer and loads of snow and thousands of ski-tourists in winter. The crew consists of Busy Fingaz, Juwee, Fu and Sensay.

Four music lovers that although growing up with different social backgrounds – ranging from punk rock-loving-skateboard-kid to being a conductor’s offspring with classical music education – finally met in the year 1999 in a graphic design school and the rest is history.

Every time the whole crew works on music together, you can definitely feel that all the influences become one – classic New York mid 90s rap and turntablism to UK bass music, reggae and beyond! After their latest release longside the rising reggae star Etzia from Sweden – which gained support by acts like So Shifty, Jugglerz, Bert on Beats, Urban Knights, Rebel Sonix, Mash Up International or the Smalltown DJs and airplay on radio stations from Trinidad Tobago to Russia – they are back with their first release on Jeffree’s.

This time they hooked up with European dancehall-ruler Million Stylez and laced another bass heavy Reggae-Electronica hybrid. Million Stylez laid down an anthem for all the weed lovers worldwide, switching from toasting to singing and back, with his trademark style and voice all over the place. Playing with different genres is natural to the Wax Wreckaz – whether it’s in their DJ-Sets or productions. And so it’s obvious that the result has a unique sound to it, including influences from different genres like house, bass, hip-hop and of course dancehall and reggae.

Inspiration

The song is basically kind of a rejection to someone who might like you, if you don't want to be in a relationship right now. When you're young there are some people who are in and out of relationships like it's going out of fashion. The song just is saying "slow down, let's work things out, and if something sparks when we're older then we'll take it from there." It's a personal thing really, it's just how I feel for myself.

Volume 7 of our ongoing Luv N’Haight Edit Series is our first on a 7 inch and features heavyweight digger, edit-master and producer Kon with his take on Twilight’s Modern Soul and Boogie classic “You’re In Love”. Jahdan Blakkamoore teams up with Kabaka Pyramid on this roots reggae banger. For the Children is a positive reggae anthem encouraging the ghetto youths to rise up and take a stand while charging them with the responsibility for self-reliance and awareness. Shot on location in California last Summer while both artists were performing at The NW World Reggae festival and Reggae on the River. 

The track produced by Zion I Kings (Pressure, Midnite, Snoop Lion) features reggae great Style Scott (Dub Syndicate, Roots Radics, Isreal Vibration) on drums and infuses elements of dubstep and hip-hop, making it fresh and current while remaining undeniably roots reggae. The riddim was tracked at legendary Jamaican Studio of Bob Marley fame, Tuff Gong Recording, in Kingston, JA.
