Music world lost another extremely important pioneer, our beloved Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles. May he rest in everlasting peace. As the world mourns his passing it's important that we celebrate the movement that he's created. From House to Electronic Dance Music we owe all the praise to Frankie Knuckles. It's icons like Frankie (The Warehouse), Larry Levan (Paradise Garage), David Mancuso (The Loft) and Nicky Siano (The Gallery) that established dance music culture during the 70's and 80's in NYC and Chicago which ultimately changed the face of nightlife across the globe.  The message was always in the music. Dancing was the key of life. What you're about to listen to is a direct reflection of these pioneers via records they loved and played with lots of Frankie Knuckles productions and remixes throughout. His music raised me. Records like "Tears" and the "Whistle Song" have never left my crates. He will be sorely missed but the music lives on. 

At No Limits the idea is to continue the legacy of good music across the board with no boundaries, the way things used to be and should remain. Note, this is a live set, crowd noise will be heard throughout. Enjoy!

This short DJ set is simply a heartfelt musical celebration, celebrating the life and times of the now late great Mr. Roy Ayers! I've stated a few times that his iconic song "Running Away" was so influential to me and my young DJ and music loving friends growing up in Detroit in the early 1980's. I still "hear" it blasting from one of my DJ mentors basements way back in the day. From Roy's cool jazzy vibes in the 1970's, to his music being heavily sampled  in Hip-Hop all through the 90's Mr. Ayers' musical fingerprint was literally everywhere. But it's the collaborations that he did with some of the House Music community that was the most fascinating to me. Here he was a "giant" in the music world still partnering with our beloved Dance Music tastemakers. I always thought that was just so cool, but then again Roy Ayers was the epitome of "Cool." May your musical legacy live forever Sir... ∞

My dear friend Dawn aka "D-Squared" asked me to put together a Josh Milan "Best Of" of sorts a while ago, and since she is my Girl and I love Josh Milan it seemed to be a Match Made in Heaven as they say. Mr. Milan is a Super talented Singer, Producer, Writer, Remixer and DJ to boot. Josh started his House Music career with the group Blaze in 1990 with Kevin Hedge and from there, Blaze and Josh never looked Back! On this Mix Josh has his Thumb Print on all of these tunes, mostly featuring his Beautiful and Original singing voice. This has been an awesome summer of new music to say the least. This particular mix was inspired by a promo package I received last night from Jayclectic Music. In the package were some amazing remixes of their 2017 smash "Met U Yet" (Available next week 9/08 on Traxsource). After hearing the bangin' Dub version, I just knew i had to get in my studio and Play! My recorded Sets are usually 80 mins. (CD Size) but while making "New Day" I just kept going and going... Grabbing lots of my old Fav's like "Planting Trees" by Mark Grant, "Perfectly" by The Layabouts, a few tunes featuring Josh Milan, Louie Vega and many many more, heck 4 hours worth of old and brand new Gems!!!! :-) So put on your Dancing Shoes, sprinkle a little baby powder and the hardwood floor and get ready to Dance Like Nobody's  Watching. \o/

About Reelsoul
Born William Rodriquez III, this young artist was heavily influenced by the wide range of musical sounds & styles introduced to him by his father, who's taste varied from Cerrone to Loose Ends. Being a product of the early 80's he was also exposed to various tones of Hip Hop and the dance scene. An avid collector of 45's by the age of 4, this experience continued to have an expression for Will's creative outlet. By 1990 this gifted 10 year old taught himself by ear to play the keyboard and his growth for challenge was further ignited by his cousin's influence of deep house tracks from such labels (strictly rhythm, nervous,) and the rich tone of dance music that by age 11, he was spinning and nurturing his craft of musical arrangements across the board from Hip-Hop, Rare Groove & Underground House Parties.

By 1992, Will was making beats with two tape decks, and a keyboard. This rich musical assortment continued to thrive on his passion for production. As he continued to advance himself in the art of making music so did his sound. His rich soulful debut "Take me to a place" was signed by Frankie Feliciano to his critically acclaim Ricanstruction label. This was quickly followed by a string of remixes for Sole Channel, Home Recordings,MN2S(just to name a few) along with recently signing with the label Sole Channel.( Mr V) Will "Reel Soul"Rodriquez is in high demand with his Dj/Producer/Remixing skills being sought from L.A. to London to mix shows east & west. Some of Mr Rodriquez's current favorite artist & producers (blaze,dj spinna, m.a.w.alix alvarez) he listens to only encourages him to create more music and push the boundaries. Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe released his first tracks in 2003 and has since fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in house, developing a long-running relationship with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then he’s amassed an impressive discography, delivering inspired productions for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound regularly takes on flavours of disco, boogie, Afro, deeper grooves, proto-house, ‘90s garage-house dubs and much more besides.

As an artist, his 2014 debut album entitled ‘It’s Time’ on Z Records displays his musical range and versatile quality production skills. The album hit Number 1 on Traxsource in its first week and has received support from the likes of Solar Radio, Mi-Soul, Kiss FM, and Jazz FM.

As a DJ, he forged a reputation at the legendary Southport Weekender, where he performed regularly. Anyone who can impress the notoriously knowledgeable Southport Weekender crowd must be doing something right. Sean has also travelled the world, playing as far afield as Asia and South Africa, as well as regular appearances across Europe and the UK. Refreshingly, he seems to have no particular aspirations to play in gargantuan clubs, and admits to preferring gigs in small, intimate venues, where he can make a connection with the crowd.

As a producer, McCabe is constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions. He admits to a love of vintage synthesizers – picked up from listening to classic New York boogie and ‘80s soul. In 2016, Sean continued his musical journey by launching ‘Good Vibrations Music’ record label – a natural evolution of his renowned Good Vibrations events in Bristol.

With a successful album under his belt, his own record label and notable collaborations with the likes of Karizma, Turbojazz, and DJ Spen, his reputation for bringing quality soulful dance music to the masses continues to rise.
