Oh what a year...

Renowned for their intimate and hedonistic parties including alfresco daytime events on the Prince Of Wales, Brixton’s wonderful Terrace, Deep Into Soul have continued in 2017 to bring you some of the biggest international DJ’s alongside some of the UK’s finest on the House scene. Debuts this year have included Tony Humphries, Jamie 3:26, Ashley Beedle, Afronaut, Q Narongwate, At One, and Kitty Amor.

On the festival circuit, we were honoured to have teamed up with the mighty Southport Weekender and the Liverpool Disco Festival, hosting boat parties, after parties and huge arenas, with guests including David Morales, Joey Negro, Kai Alce, Grant Nelson and Josh Milan to name but a few.

For our end of year Party we have decided to go with an all UK Line up to celebrate the talent and greatness we have right here, so get ready to dance your ass off with an insanely friendly dance crowd that appreciate some of the finest house music that the capital has to offer in an unrestrained party atmosphere. Since Paul's passing, he pops into my mind almost daily. He gave me my first break in this industry, and has always guided and supported me. So many tracks come to my mind when i think about Paul, and yesterday his presence was with me really strongly and i couldn't stop thinking about him, and how he inspired me in so many ways. I just needed to play music that reminded me of Paul Trouble and some truly amazing times in my life. so here is is. Nearly 4 hours of tracks that flowed from me yesterday (all very spiritual i know, but that's the truth). Some of the mixing ain't the best and there's a few key clashes but i thought fuck it just share it. I hope you enjoy!

Releasing his first solo record in 1995 with the Basement Boys he would begin a period of critical and commercial success which has led to recognition all over the globe. His label @quantize-recordings has also gone on to be one of the most essential Soulful House labels on the planet with some 600+ releases. 

Spen has just released his brand new album 'Soulful Storm' packed full of Soulful, Gospel, Disco and Afro House gems. To celebrate the release of the album we asked Spen to jump on our Selectors Mix series and we also had a long chat with him about how his career has led up to the release of Soulful Storm. Bristol-based producer Sean McCabe released his first tracks in 2003 and has since fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in house, developing a long-running relationship with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark. Since then he’s amassed an impressive discography, delivering inspired productions for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Tribe, and Quantize – plus an original solo album for Z Records.

A quick listen to any of his productions or one of his superb DJ sets will confirm this attractive, emotion-rich aesthetic. While rooted in house, his sound regularly takes on flavours of disco, boogie, Afro, deeper grooves, proto-house, ‘90s garage-house dubs and much more besides.

As an artist, his 2014 debut album entitled ‘It’s Time’ on Z Records displays his musical range and versatile quality production skills. The album hit Number 1 on Traxsource in its first week and has received support from the likes of Solar Radio, Mi-Soul, Kiss FM, and Jazz FM.

As a DJ, he forged a reputation at the legendary Southport Weekender, where he performed regularly. Anyone who can impress the notoriously knowledgeable Southport Weekender crowd must be doing something right. Sean has also travelled the world, playing as far afield as Asia and South Africa, as well as regular appearances across Europe and the UK. Refreshingly, he seems to have no particular aspirations to play in gargantuan clubs, and admits to preferring gigs in small, intimate venues, where he can make a connection with the crowd.

As a producer, McCabe is constantly learning and evolving, taking his sound in different directions. He admits to a love of vintage synthesizers – picked up from listening to classic New York boogie and ‘80s soul. In 2016, Sean continued his musical journey by launching ‘Good Vibrations Music’ record label – a natural evolution of his renowned Good Vibrations events in Bristol.

With a successful album under his belt, his own record label and notable collaborations with the likes of Karizma, Turbojazz, and DJ Spen, his reputation for bringing quality soulful dance music to the masses continues to rise.
