That’s how Ohmzz describes himself as a DJ.  Never afraid to go dark, his contentious musical selections are his own therapy.  Having grown up on his father’s eclectic European electronica, synth-infused 80s music and alternative/psychedelic music. All which became infused with his own love for “beautiful” music, Ohmzz ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence.

He used to play techno at big local raves (Dreamzone, Brainkiller, House Of God, …) and as guest appearances in well-known clubs as Fuse, Zazou and Illusion. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: from “dark hypnotic freight-train techno with luscious dream-pads cruising trough the galaxy”, to the slow 90s after-hour sound and dub techno. 

As active member of his local community, Ohmzz is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene.  Though he loves playing in nightclubs, raves and local events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes.  As a professional audio engineer and producer, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically.  He also likes to organize and support local parties where he can listen to his favorite techno tunes and artists.

When there is a love for music, it becomes more than just a listening experience. 

Not only can the structural features of music convey an emotional message to the listener, but it may also create emotion within the listener. These emotions can be completely new feelings or maybe an extension of previous emotional events.

Hackage is Filippo Conti dj and producer from Italy; born in Rome in 1984, he starts making music at the age of 18, pushed by this passion he attended a class at the SAE in Rotterdam and in 2008 he founds along with some friends the crew concept called Noxius which, in just a year, holds down releases on international labels such as  M-Atome (FR), Flight Recs (US), Abducted (US), Modulate (IT) and Ammunition (US). In 2009 Noxius win the prestigious "Elettrowave Challenge" as best drum and bass dj/producer. In 2010 he runs an indie record label "Black Seeds Recordings" and, along with his partner, hosts a show on dnbradio.com. His djset has been showcased at the best club nights all over Italy as well as Florida (US), Portugal, Holland and Luxembourg. Last fall he started his new solo project, Hackage, and he signed with two important labels Close 2 Death (UK) and Trust in Music (DE). As a producer, he has worked with some valuable upcoming artists of the dnb scene such as Aeph, Neonlight, Triage, Dabs and AnB and his tunes have been supported by djs of the caliber of Opitv, Chook, Zero Method, Kenei and Fourward.
