Seba Lecompte started collecting vinyl in the early 90's and played his first gigs in Belgium around 1997. After organising local warehouse parties, Seba earned a resident spot at the famous Decadance club in his hometown Ghent. With this residency Seba established himself as one of Belgium’s finest and hardest working techno dj's. 

Seba has a very distinct dj-style: energetic mixes combined with well balanced storytelling. Thanx to this dj-style Seba heated up all major Belgian dancefloors: I Love Techno, Fuse, Kozzmozz, Café D'Anvers, 10 Days Off, Laundry Day, Ostend Beach, Silo, The Wood, Studio 22, Cherry Moon and of course his homebase Decadance.

Nowadays Seba is still playing weekly at Decadance and is the driving force behind Bang The Box, the longest running techno concept at Decadance. Over the years Seba invited guests such as Ken Ishii, Mark Broom, Johannes Heil, Gary Beck, Dustin Zahn, Steve Rachmad, Dubspeeka, Technasia, Joel Mull, Hans Bouffmyhre, Paul Ritch, Joris Voorn, Monika Kruse, Pig & Dan, Shlomi Aber, Green Velvet and Stephan Hinz to name a few.

Seba Lecompte also has an unstoppable passion for producing techno music, which resulted in his first releases on Eukatech records in 2004 under the monniker 'Wings Of Sound'. These EP's immediately got played by artists such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Marco Lenzi, Estroe, Tomaz and many more.

Between 2006 and 2008 Seba had the honour of being a resident dj at Fuse in Brussels, Belgium's premier techno club and played alongside many a-list international guest dj's.
Around this time Seba also started touring across Europe and played in Berlin, Kopenhagen, Oslo, Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Nijmegen, Luxembourg, Chemnitz, Braunschweig, Bethune and more.

In 2012, after producing several EP's with a friend as 'Double Shift', Seba decided to focus on his solo material as 'Seba Lecompte'. Since then Seba released music on established labels like Recode Musik, Krannit Records, Girafe Sauvage, Polar Noise, Gotham Grooves, What Happens, Balance 432, Airtaxi, Mude, Railroad Recordings and Ion music.
In 2016 Seba started a new collaboration with the Danish/Belgian artist Soren Aalberg. This resulted in a first release on Frankyeffe's imprint Riot Recordings and got played by lots of key industry artists.

The future looks bright for Seba with confirmed solo releases on high profile labels, increasing gigs abroad and new material from Soren Aalberg & Seba which should be hitting your ears soon!

La house music est un courant musical né au début des années 1980 à Chicago. Originellement liée à l'histoire des DJs, son nom provient du Warehouse, club de Chicago où officiait le DJ Frankie Knuckles. La house est constituée d'un rythme minimal, d'une ligne de basse proche du funk, à ceci s'ajoute souvent des voix, samplées ou non.

Si Frankie Knuckles, en tant que DJ, est le précurseur du genre, les premiers producteurs de house sont Chip E. (Like This, It's House), Adonis avec No Way Back, Steve "Silk" Hurley (Music Is The Key, Jack Your Body), Marshall Jefferson et le fameux The House Music Anthem (Move Your Body), Keith Farley et son Love Can't Turn Around (1986), Lil' Louis avec le tube international French Kiss et Larry Heard, qui composera sous le pseudonyme de Mr. Fingers l'hymne deep house Can U Feel It dont l'une des versions est agrémentée d'un discours de Martin Luther King. Réalisés en 1983 par Jesse Saunders et publiés sur le label Mitchbal, les morceaux On & On et Funk U Up sont considérés comme les deux premières créations de house. Si tous ces artistes viennent de Chicago, la house n'a cependant jamais été uniforme et dès 1988 apparaît par exemple la hip-house avec Fast Eddie et le titre Yoyo Get Funky, mêlant à la house les racines electro du hip-hop.

Même si la house est née à Chicago, la ville de New York a rapidement développé une scène très active, particulièrement portée vers le garage, house vocale héritière du disco, inspirée par le club où jouait le DJ Larry Levan, le Paradise Garage. Détroit a développé en parallèle la techno. On a un temps parlé de New Jersey House pour désigner la deep house de la côte Est des États-Unis, dont le groupe Blaze est encore aujourd'hui un représentant. Mel Cheren, légende de la nuit new-yorkaise, qualifiait la house de disco on the budget (disco à l'économie). De fait, cette musique s'est caractérisée dès ses débuts par des moyens de productions réduits, un côté « artisanal ». Les précurseurs du genre enregistraient leurs morceaux sur cassettes dans le seul but que les DJs de Chicago les passent en club. Ces expériences ont façonné la « Culture Club » et sa mythologie. Le disque vinyle est rapidement devenu le support privilégié de cette musique. Actuellement, la production house est toujours d'actualité et est principalement jouée dans des lieux spécialisés et dans certaines boîtes de nuit.
