Composing has been Aussie songwriter Rachel Koster’s strong point for long over a decade with Australian acts and industry moguls valuing and utilising her skills.  Collaborations have included; Moodie (Australian Idol), Stuart Fraser (Noiseworks), Gary Pinto (CDB), Stephen Cummings, Nashville’s Karin Papperelli, Jordie Lane, members of Paul Kelly’s Professor Ratbaggy, award winning blues artist Lil'Fi, among others.  She has written and recorded in many genres including EDM, jazz, pop, musicals, acoustic, as well as jingle writing, however writing for other acts is her passion.  A number of Aussie artists and bands have used or considered Rachel’s material, including top acts such as Vanessa Amorosi.   

This artist’s solo debut, an independent pop single ‘December’, was followed by her highly acclaimed jazz album ‘Deciduous’, produced by ARIA award winning engineer, Robin Mai (John Butler Trio) and producer Chris Dickie (Wet Wet Wet/The Eurythmics).  She subsequently reached #21 on the JJJ Unearthed charts with a quirky single called ‘The Mess’, and in 2017 a dreamy pop acoustic duet ‘Carnival’ with newcomer Blake Gannon hit the airwaves.  

‘Your purpose is not something you make up, but what you are made up of’ is a truth that Koster has come to value as a personal and professional dictum.  ‘Delivering life in the form of songs is pretty much my ‘why’.  I love when a song has something to say…it’s one of the most beautiful elements of music, a great vehicle.  I must admit I am a sucker for strong melody and a catchy or meaningful lyric, I think those elements are always essential.’

She is constantly honing her skills, moving with the current market, and at present writing via commission for other acts and collaborative projects, as well as new solo EDM pop tracks and acoustic singles soon to be released.
