The last few months have been amazing in terms of remix assignments and gigs. This remix is an official mission from Universal Germany for the artist Marlon Roudette new hit "When the beat drops out", it climbs the charts throughout Europe and when I heard the original for the first time I understand why. Marlon really has an amazing voice and I have done my best to create a good tune around the solid vocals. hope you will enjoy the remix as much as I did making it!

Biographie:

Der im Jahre 1985 in Potsdam geborene Künstler, Sebastian Morgentau, kam schon im frühen Kindesalter mit der Musik in Berührung. Dank seiner musikbegeisterten Eltern, dem damit verbundenen hohen Musikkonsum im jungen Alter und auch dem späteren Keyboardunterricht in der Grundschule, begann er schon früh ein reges Interesse und eine besondere Leidenschaft zur Musik zu entwickeln. Aufgrund einer schweren Erkrankung seiner damaligen Musiklehrerin und keinem adäquaten Ersatz für diese, verlor er das bisher regelmäßige „Weiterspielen“ aus den Augen. Dennoch sollte die Musik weiterhin eine feste Rolle in seinem Leben spielen.

Dank der damaligen örtlichen Veranstaltungen des Potsdamer Seesportclubs, unter anderem die bekannten „Julklapp’s“, konnte er sich dort neben dem Sport auch musikalisch integrieren und begann als Discjockey auf diversen Events tätig zu sein. Durch die dortigen Freunde, Fans der „JAZZKANTINE“, entwickelte er Anfangs eine Leidenschaft welche sich Richtung Jazz und Hiphop Musik bewegte. Schon kurze Zeit später folgten die ersten Plattenspieler und Mixer. Da er diese über einen Privatverkauf erwarb, bekam er zusätzlich vom Vorbesitzer auch erste Platten der „Elektronischen“ Musikgenres geschenkt (Bonzai, Frankfurt Beat, Dr.Motte, Westbam– NWO, Ellen Allien, Sascha Funke) welche sich zu seinen bereits erworbenen Vinyls von u.a. Notorious Big, DMX aber auch die Fantastischen Vier und Fünf Sterne Deluxe gesellten.

Sebastian wurde das reine spielen von Musik nach nicht allzu langer Zeit jedoch sprichwörtlich zu „langweilig“, worauf er begann erste Beats nachzubauen und auch eigene zu produzieren, Damals noch mit Image-Line Fruity Loops 3, später mit Propellerheads Reason und auch ersten Versionen von Ableton Live. Nach dem Release des Midi-Controllers AKAI APC40, erwarb er sich die Ableton Live 8 Suite. Durch den grandiosen Workflow beim Produzieren, konnte er seiner zusätzlich entwickelten Leidenschaft zur elektronischen Musik noch mehr freien Lauf lassen und entwickelte seinen ganz eigenen Stil.

Es folgten schon bald erste, kleine „LIVE“ Auftritte in Potsdam’s damaligen Club Spartacus und auch Berliner Clubs wie das Eschschloraque und dem Aqua Club. Sein Ehrgeiz und die Faszination daran, die Menschen mit seinen eigenen Kompositionen zum Tanzen zu bringen, brachten Sebastian bis heute mitunter auf die Line-Up’s der Events von BEATS FOR LOVE Festival (CZ/Ostrava), Coconut Beatclub (DE/Teltow Fläming), CODE (CZ/Prag), CUBE (CZ/Prag), E.F.N. (DE/Potsdam), Expected Gates (PL/ ód), Full Access (DE/Brandenburg), Hakke Music (DE/Werder Havel), Klangfarben (DE), LET IT ROLL Festival (CZ/Benešov), Minimal Labor Ost (DE/Potsdam), Pursuit of Happiness Festival (DE/Kiel), Secret Water Micro-Festival (DE/Nauen), Strezzkidz (DE/Ballenstedt), Vagabunten Music (DE/Potsdam) und auch Vantec Events (DE/Kassel).

Durch entstandene Kontakte ergaben sich nun auch internationale Auftritte für das tschechische Label „CODE“, u.a. in dem Storm Club, der Hala36 und Hala70 in Prag, zusammen mit Größen wie Alan Fitzpatrik, Mauro Picotto, Sasha Carassi oder auch Sven Wittekind. Auch auf großen Festivals wie dem „BEATS FOR LOVE“ in Ostrava und auch dem „LET IT ROLL“ in Benešov durfte er bereits für das tschechische Label auftreten.

Seit 2018 gehört er nun auch zum Portfolio des deutschen Labels „CITY OF DRUMS“
und wird sich weiterhin einen Namen in der „Elektronischen“ Musikszene machen.
