About the instrument: The mosesa5C was used to perform Passage (for X) 4, the posted preview piece for this album. This 5th generation mosesa instrument was created in July 2014. It is roughly 48” (120cm) long. The resonators are replaceable, re-positionable, plastic bottles. The plastic gives the instrument a unique sound quality, roughly similar to a skin plate. Wood bridges were used to create greater sustain and bass response..

MATTHIES: Passage (for X) 4

This original piece, played by Zelwer on piano (summer 2014)was a command by the Polish composer Pawel Romanczuk, who is Male Instrumenty artistic director : Male Istrumenty is using only toy & new instruments made by himself. 
He orchestred Macabre Walz in that way & his version can be heard in Walz W Walz album, dedicated to first world war centenary (https://soundcloud.com/maleinstrumenty/male-instrumenty-jean-marc-zelwer-macabre-waltz)

Dark Winter Flow, Dormant Buds (Matthies) is the third of three album preview pieces. In each one, I used a different mosesa, and improvised on the thought/feeling of exploring a cliff space, the light, it's textures, contrasts and blends.
