Anton Bazhenov, better known in the industry as Meeting Molly, is a Russian music producer whose career began in 2017. Florian Gasperini -  Beyond The Veil [Botanica]

Ethereality rounds off its first year of releases with trip number twelve, a collaboration between driving force Jakhira and label debutant Ben Monday, backed with remixes by Dio S and Northcat. Ben Monday made waves with his track Felt on Nordic Voyage Recordings last year, but perhaps even more so under his other alias White Leaf, with releases on All Day I Dream, Sag & Tre and Amulanga amongst others. The original mix brings together sweeping pads with soothing keys and a scintillating santur to great effect. Subtle synth riffs and a grotesquely groovy bassline provide perfect company for the angelic ad lib vocals that take centre stage. Our two remix artists also appear on the label for the first time. First up is Dio S from Greece, known for his deeper touch which has seen his music released on labels like Seven Villas, Sound Avenue and many more. Warm bass tones and calming chords swirl around the organic percussion with a delightfully delicate bell synth hook providing catchy companionship. Pretty piano chords and subtle stabs add even more depth until the tide comes in. Last but not least is British artist Northcat with quite literally a very different beast. Adding a unique twist, his interpretation transforms Spring Tide into a progressive house dancefloor destroyer. Swapping out the live instrumentation for a flurry of sizzling synths and rumbling bass, it builds to a gargantuan climax and drops harder than a splash down from space. Prepare to get soaked.

BIO:
Kim Cou is one of the new female exponents of the Costa Rican electronic music scene. In her DJ sets, Kim Cou is characterized by a deep exploration of the melodic and intense sounds of Techno, Progressive House, and Indie Dance.

In 2020, she began her journey into music, initially self-taught, before joining the DJLab school in the heart of San Jose. During this period, she also became part of the collective Atypical Noise, currently consisting of Artro, Tinzak, and Subcons.

Early in her career, Kim Cou quickly established herself as a key figure in Costa Rica’s underground music scene, sharing the stage with international and local artists such as Nicole Moudaber, Henri Bergmann, Sama Abdulhadi, Who Else, Morttagua, and many more. She has performed at major venues like Antik, Bombom, and Avalon, as well as events including Electric Animals, 3AM Techno, and the Maracatán boat party.

Internationally, Kim Cou performed at Playaphonic Festival in Nicaragua and made her debut at the iconic Ocaso Festival in Tamarindo in January 2023. After a brief break, she returned in March 2024, now based in Israel, with a performance at Cactus 9 in Jerusalem.

In addition to her live sets, Kim Cou has recorded sets across Costa Rica and at the Dead Sea. She recently started her music production journey, with this, she aims to perform not only in Costa Rica and Israel but around the world, continuing to grow as an artist while sharing her unique sound and infectious energy with the global underground music community.
