If you love hard techno music, you probably remember the massive tune "Nightmare" by Sebastian Groth, Ben Dust and Markus Weigelt that took the scene by storm in 2021. The track was number one on the charts for months, reached millions of streams, was a trendsetter for the current hard techno rave style and became the most successful hard techno track in 2021, but if you thought that was the end of the story, youre wrong. Sebastian Groth, one of the original producers of "Nightmare," has released a new remix that takes the track to a whole new level of intensity. Called "Groths Power Up Mix", the remix is a harder, faster and more aggressive version of the original, with a modern hard dance twist and a pounding hard techno rhythm that gets your head pumping at over 150 BPM. Sebastian Groth is known for his innovative and boundary-pushing approach on remixes, and this one proved to be no exception. Lowkey and Kardinal are french-based artists who have left their marks on lots of big labels around the world and together they appear as one of the most remarkable duos on the latest techno-scene! They show up with their new track 'Pentadrone' which gets reworked by the mexican-based artist, sound-designer and co-founder of Vector Functions Records - Dig-it, and the amercian techno-disciple and founder of Capital Techno Recordings Steel Grooves!

'Pentadrone' takes off with a massive wavelike bassline, and starts to burst forward from the beginning! A remarkable rave-synth which the track circles around slowly surfaces, while propelling percussive grooves evolve quickly and ring in the action. The main-theme blossoms up and gains support by an additional synth before submerging again. A clap reinforces the kick and bright rides add tension, while the theme rises further and gets one in the right mood for a massive break! Well placed snares bang around and delayed dark vocal-fragments boost the energy before 'Pentadrone' drops again and starts to submerge gently in the dark.

Steel Grooves rework starts with driving percussions and snappy hihats which get backed-up by open hats and a backing-synth quite soon. The tracks undertone gains support by the rave-tool known from the original which floats front and back. Various of long reverbed effects clink around and get reinforced by snarefires and tom-structures at the right moment, while reverbed female vocal-fragments come to light! 

Dig-it restructures 'Pentadrone' and boils it down with some sub-action and fresh groove-accentuations! Top-percussions stab forward stoical, and an adorable hi-hat structure reinforces the pumpin' character. An electrifying backing-pad swells up and a dark one-note synth supports the tracks roots, before the well known rave-synth appears on the scene! Weird effects add an organic quality while dimmed rimshots and bright rides put some energy into the place, before Dig-it's rework of 'Pentadrone' opens up in the break and drifts dropward to ring in the action again!

In conclusion this release comes along as a set of three forward-orientated peaktime tracks and offers a great package of underground techno music!

We could spend the next three paragraphs banging on about the monumental impact our first release ‘We Do What We Want’ had, but to be totally honest with you, we are tired of the track now and just want to move on to the raft of equally amazing music we have lined up for release on We Are The Brave.

However, in case you were living under a rock this summer, the key facts you should make a note of are as follows: it was the unofficial anthem for ravers from Hideout Festival to Creamfields. Annie Mac went mental for it on Radio 1. We got snapchats from school kids buzzing off the track and tweets from retailers playing it in their shops. It was even heard in KFC! And our soundcloud stream went into virtual meltdown clocking up 315K listens in under three months.

So yeah, not much to live up to… but you know what? We Are The Brave, we do what we want… and we want to get on to release number two! It’s called Friday Night Dancing. It’s by Alan Fitzpatrick. Skream is on the remix. Nuff said!

Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave brand has well and truly landed. Their debut sold-out club shows, held over one weekend at the end of March were preceded by three barmy house parties live broadcast from the homes of fans, and a host of well received singles have now come and gone, setting the tone for followers to expect the unexpected from the label with their self styled motto of We Do What We Want. 

It is then with a nonchalant shrug of the shoulders and poker face glare that We Are The Brave dish out their latest offering, ‘You Got Me’. As Fitzpatrick goes on to explain:

“Brave will always be the most natural home for my music, whether it be a familiar style to listeners or not. The whole point is that we are building an excitement around the music being released by not following a particular pattern or pandering to expectation. Hopefully I’ve made the point over the first three releases that We Are The Brave is about going with a flow and not letting preconceptions limit your experience, so its about time we released a good old Fitzpatrick rave banger, init!” 

Even the most fleeting of listens to the intro of thumping kick drums, precision crafted percussion and thunderous claps will give a strong clue that Fitzpatrick is back at the controls this time out. By the time the cut is in full throttle just after the two-minute mark then you can sense the knowing looks starting to shoot about the room as the familiar feeling grows. Luckily for anyone still unsure, all doubt is cast off at the half way point when the rave pads and breakbeats rip on from nowhere followed in hot pursuit by the "classic" Emmanuel Top "Play It Loud" you got me burning up vocal.

Some more recent converts to Alan Fitzpatrick may not be fully aware of the depth of his catalogues, never mind the 20+ years discography that Slam have behind them or indeed the history of remix collaboration between the two that goes back to 2010. However, despite the heavy dosing of hoovers and horns on their You Got Me rework, this Slam Track Series remix is all about the here and now as Glasgow’s techno kings turn in another example of the fine form they find themselves on right now.

Welcome to the hardness level 1,000 of electronic music, welcome to the world of: Sebastian Groth. As a DJ and producer, he is an integral part of the German techno scene. As the label operator of ReWasted, one of the main addresses for hard techno worldwide, he is also one of the most influential players when it comes to the defining sound and trends of the last ten years in the field of hard techno. With a mix of uncompromising techno, his own edits and special old-school vibes, he skillfully generates his very own genre on the edge of madness by using classic hardcore and schranz elements: power techno!
It is this tendency to DJ as a true entertainer with contact to the crowd, a smile on his face and a slightly ironic attitude to his own work that characterizes Sebastian. The Westerwald (Germany) native discovered his passion for electronic music early. At the age of 14, he bought his first DJ set-up and organized his first illegal rave at the age of 16. His first own release in 2008 found its way straight to house music pioneer George Morel, who gave him the opportunity to remix his 1993 classic "Let's Groove". This first major success paved the way for a great career.
Since then, Sebastian has made himself a name as a workaholic, not only as a producer and remixer. His discography includes countless releases on some of the most important labels for hard techno and includes remixes for the who's who of the top league. So, it comes as no surprise he's received a multitude of awards for his work over the years, including the award for "Best Techno Producer".
Since his beginnings, the techno scene has changed many times, many artists have come and gone, but Sebastian has stayed, because: His heart beats 150 BPM and faster.
