If you love hard techno music, you probably remember the massive tune "Nightmare" by Sebastian Groth, Ben Dust and Markus Weigelt that took the scene by storm in 2021. The track was number one on the charts for months, reached millions of streams, was a trendsetter for the current hard techno rave style and became the most successful hard techno track in 2021, but if you thought that was the end of the story, youre wrong. Sebastian Groth, one of the original producers of "Nightmare," has released a new remix that takes the track to a whole new level of intensity. Called "Groths Power Up Mix", the remix is a harder, faster and more aggressive version of the original, with a modern hard dance twist and a pounding hard techno rhythm that gets your head pumping at over 150 BPM. Sebastian Groth is known for his innovative and boundary-pushing approach on remixes, and this one proved to be no exception. For me, it has never been a more important time to create and release music. When it feels like everything is crumbling down around me, nothing can hold me together and lift me up the way that making music can. Nothing can connect me with spirit and purpose the way that creating something from nothing does. Making music creates pathways for connection and community too. It may be harder and more rare for us to be together physically right now, but when we are listening to the same music, we are weaving an undeniable connection with each other. KOMPAKT welcomes back three dear friends – Copenhagen’s WhoMadeWho. Tomas Barfod’s penchant for electronic music poetically juxtaposed with Tomas Høffding and Jeppe Kjellberg’s respective backgrounds in rock and jazz, gives their music an electrifying combination of sounds, merging a variety of influences to produce a unique sonic fingerprint that is emotive, irresistible and immensely satisfying.

Though we both have yet to strike a note together since the release of their 2012 full length “Brighter” (KOM 254), WhoMadeWho have been remarkably productive. With two full lengths, a DJ mix for Watergate’s series and releasing two of 2019’s most played out club tracks together with Rampa (Innervisions) and Artbat (Watergate Records), the trio have found themselves diving more and more into the world of electronic music, tapping into their goldmine of connections within the scene to spearhead an array of collaborations.

The result is Synchronicity – a full length album to be released on November 13th.

The final chapter of our EP series is “Synchronicity III” – Kompakt’s fearless leader Michael Mayer joins forces with the trio to produce an outlandishly catchy house excursion. A throbbingly sexy groove twists around a nonsensically fun robo-disco vocal. Terr makes serious waves these days – from her exceptional releases on Phantasy, Correspondant, Permanent Vacation to released and operating own imprint Clash Lion they come up with “Falling Out” – an exclusive to this EP. This is the ultimate duet – her vocals harmonise with the band under flow with the perfect rhythm and beat of disco-fied refinement. Next up is Rebolledo – Mexico’s ambassador of dance floor devotion and one half of the legendary Pachanga Boys. A dear friend to the house of Kompakt. “Chaser” fuels those travellers of the night – a soundtrack for another dimension. Last but not least, fans will rejoice as Adana Twins return with a second collaboration together with the band. The clang of the cowbell is clear as a twisted guitar twangs to an ominous 4/4 rhythm.

Welcome to the hardness level 1,000 of electronic music, welcome to the world of: Sebastian Groth. As a DJ and producer, he is an integral part of the German techno scene. As the label operator of ReWasted, one of the main addresses for hard techno worldwide, he is also one of the most influential players when it comes to the defining sound and trends of the last ten years in the field of hard techno. With a mix of uncompromising techno, his own edits and special old-school vibes, he skillfully generates his very own genre on the edge of madness by using classic hardcore and schranz elements: power techno!
It is this tendency to DJ as a true entertainer with contact to the crowd, a smile on his face and a slightly ironic attitude to his own work that characterizes Sebastian. The Westerwald (Germany) native discovered his passion for electronic music early. At the age of 14, he bought his first DJ set-up and organized his first illegal rave at the age of 16. His first own release in 2008 found its way straight to house music pioneer George Morel, who gave him the opportunity to remix his 1993 classic "Let's Groove". This first major success paved the way for a great career.
Since then, Sebastian has made himself a name as a workaholic, not only as a producer and remixer. His discography includes countless releases on some of the most important labels for hard techno and includes remixes for the who's who of the top league. So, it comes as no surprise he's received a multitude of awards for his work over the years, including the award for "Best Techno Producer".
Since his beginnings, the techno scene has changed many times, many artists have come and gone, but Sebastian has stayed, because: His heart beats 150 BPM and faster.
