More and more I’ve realising that as humans and artists we create space and also invite each other into these spaces. With space I’m referring to all dimensions; e.g. physical, emotional, psychological, mental. 
Some natural and highly relevant questions comes with this understanding: With what intention am I taking part in creating the world? How are my invitation affecting the world we live in? Can I contribute to the changes needed to allow balance and sustainability in the world? 

I strongly feel that all beings are fundamentally the flow of creativity and for all humans it’s essential to find one’s own way/channel to express this creativity. By doing this we naturally allow the balance needed to express in a sustainable way.
As an artist I know that I have potential to invite others to remember this. 

I’m so inspired and happy to see the Earth Percentage project taking form, making it possible for me as an artist to contribute to one of the most important challenges we as humanity are facing.

From the new Sebastian Mullaert EP released on Josh Wink's OVUM Recordings on June 30, 2014.
I made Chant de Paris the day before my first solo live show at the club showcase in Paris, hence the name for the track and EP.

Over the last 17 years, Sebastian Mullaert has had a long and distinguished career as one half of hardware experimentalist duo Minilogue, with releases on Cocoon, Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels. Now opting to focus more on solo endeavors, he hits the ground running with his sublime Ovum debut. Clocking in at a hefty 16 minutes in length, the title track is a heady excursion which flirts with reverb-drenched ouds and meandering keyboard scales, conveying an air of Arabic mystique. An array of acidic synths move in and out of focus, whilst skittering hi-hats and ride cymbals slowly build upon rafts of kinetic energy, all programmed with a deft, organic touch.In an impressive display of versatility, Mullaert promptly flips the vibe from Berlin basement to Ibiza sunset with Recapturing the Radical Self. It starts off similarly enough, with brooding 303 squelches and sharp claps, but slowly ascends into a state of full-on Balearic bliss. Sebastian Mullaert has always favoured the long arc: of tracks, of creative cycles, of artistic trust. His next chapter unfolds in the form of a new vinyl only label, born in close collaboration with Ulf Eriksson — his longtime friend, ally and the steady pulse behind Kontra Musik, a label that’s been both home and launchpad for many of Mullaert’s most vital releases.

K-Files is built on two foundations: singularity and multiplicity. Every release will present a single track refracted through three or four different versions — each one approaching the core idea from a distinct creative angle. These are tools not just for DJs, but for listeners who hear dance music as more than just rhythm — as mood, as exploration, as transformation.

The first release, KFILE 001, sets the tone: deep, dubby, and spacious, it invites patience and immersion. But like all good rituals, the process will shift. Future releases are already poised to explore other territories: sharper energies, stranger grooves, unexpected colours.

In an world increasingly defined by instant access and digital saturation, K-Files stands
intentionally apart — a slower offering. A return to physicality, to process, to the tactile rituals of listening, selecting, and playing music with care.

K-Files is a sublabel for those who play records not just to move bodies, but to open space. A
platform for sonic evolution, variation, and perspective. A place where dance music is not pinned down — but opened up.

Each record will be released exclusively on vinyl.

Touch Live on September 26th 2009 at Todaysart 09, Den Haag featured Biosphere, Philip Jeck, Hildur Gudnadottir, Jana Winderen & The Eternal Chord. Biosphere gave an intimate performance in the Lutherse Kerk, a very small church.

Following the release of their latest album ‘Rising and Falling’, the duo return with a brilliant remix package centered around one of the standout tracks from the album. Titled ‘Can’t Hurt You’ the track features the sublime vocal talents of Kim Ann Foxman.

Fans of the album will be well versed with the delicate floating synths and memorable vocals of the supremely-talented Miss Foxman from the original album version. But this release is all about the three remixes from Guti, Russ Yallop, and Just Be!

Desolat’s Argentinean supremo Guti offers his own refreshing take on the original, injecting some serious South American funk and flavour to proceedings. From the outset Guti stamps his unmistakable groove on the original taking the tempo up a level and adding new keys and vocal samples, culminating in a fantastic dance-floor orientated remix.

Next up is one of Crosstown Rebels leading lights Russ Yallop who lends his hand to create a trippy yet sensuous version of the original. His remix is characterised by striking deep bass and a jacking kick which take centre stage. The remix builds and builds into a swirling distorted crescendo until it drops back into its absorbing big-room beat.

Completing this package is a special dub by Just Be, one of Matt Bushwacka!’s aliases. It takes the listener on a much more hypnotic journey. While the subtle synths and haunting vocals of the original remain, these are complemented by adding new percussive elements to the track, taking it to new sonic depths.

Overall then fans can expect yet another strong remix package from Layo & Bushwacka! which features three extremely high-quality versions of the fantastic original.

Everything comes in its own time: a wordly wisdom that Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert aka Minilogue take for granted. Since their foundation in the year 1997 they emerged to one of the most respected and hard to pigeonhole electronic music acts world-wide. And that not only because in each of their artistic expressions you can feel their effortless passion for what they do - whether live or magnetized on a medium. Also because they do not stick to any stylistic niche to mark their territory. House, techno, ambient, trance, and lately jazz are equal parts in their creations. The most effective bunched proof for their musical universalism was marked in 2008 with the release of their debut album „Animals““ on Cocoon. Since then a string of Ep’s on labels like Mule, Wagon Repair, Traum Schallplatten, and their own imprint Minilogue continued their story in sound in which everything is made out of the present moment. Also the jazz infused album „Bring Out The Imps“ that they recorded under the alias IMPS with two jazz musicians and a heartfelt collaboration album with the Japanese producer Kuniyuki entered their discography. And between all their work they constantly performed their intense improvised live shows all around the globe. Privatly they formed themself a life far beyond the big city lights, out in the Swedish woods in the north of Malmö. Here they live a life where the inner gets the outer and where their way of creating is far away from Zeitgeist zones in which musical trends pass by like seasons. In the past five years they met every now and then when it felt like hooking up in the studio, jammed on their equipment without a clear goal in mind and recorded each unique moment that was guided by the experience of the single day of life that marked their souls when they came together. In past months they went through the archives of their creative comments on our time, that been born in moments where time was not on the agenda. In that time just music called the tune and as a result of this pure form of conversation between two souls their second album „Blomma“ emerged. The title of the album isn’t just a name. The Swedish word „blomma“  represents two meanings in one: to bloom and the flower. The flower and the blooming are deeply tied to each other - as for Minilogue the process of making music and the temporary result of the process is one too, the album title matches perfectly with their aim of beeing aimless. Out of this attitude towards making music again a heterogeneous longplayer arose that does not work like a regulary formatted club music album. It comes in two parts that both have two faces within themself which are constantly shifting: dance oriented rhythm parts and airy layered ambient atmospheres – always intensely tuneful, musical, and shapely. All eight tracks underpin the wisdom that says that in the moment of deep creativity you disappear. Because no ego can be heard and all grooves, melodies, field-recordings, samples, and chords work like a single colour of a musical painting that is full of versatile electric elements und unnatural sounds. Sounds that only evolve if those who create them are far away from knowing that they create. A state of mind that Minilogue bound on a double album that is just there to let the music speak. That is why again you can’t see their faces on the cover. Instead pictures of the nature that surrounds them in their everyday life stimulate the fancy of the listener while his ears get lost in a gentle amalgamation of rhythm and sound that conveys the impression that it just flew through the bodies of both while their extremities instantly used each instrument around – from the computer to the synth, from percussions to piano. Nothing you can hear on the album is edited or post produced – it all sounds exactly like it was when the atoms of these two individuals danced together. The result is a record with no real beginning or end. An album that tells unconscious an epic story about the path it took to make it. With each atmospheric turn it blooms like an unreal sound fairytale which leaves much space for the listeners individual imagination. You can dance to it, you can ease, you can loose your feeling towards time and space. Whatever happens – in one moment suddenly Minilogue are very close, even if they are not present.

Deetron is on a roll. Fresh off his Out Of My Head single with remixes from Kink and George Fitzgerald he has a new EP ready. “Character” is techno as you can expect it from our Swiss friend; deep but uplifting, refined but powerful. The track comes in two different versions, with the ‘Beats’ version being more stripped down obviously. “Can’t Love You More” on the flip drives on a catchy vocal and goes more toward the (deep) house spectrum, but with a punchy kick to keep that dancefloor going. Class A material as always from Deetron – watch out for his new album later this year.

When you listen to Sebastian Mullaert’s music you will feel something enchanting, a resonance that delivers truth, integrity and reminds us to simply be. The Swedish artist has a distinct approach to life, as well as music, which is centred around tranquillity, stillness and the convergence of Zen meditation, nature and creativity. Known for his work as one half of Minilogue, Sebastian is also an accomplished solo artist with new material ready to roll. As an artist that is constantly evolving he has taken a bold new direction in his sonic exploration, immersing himself in the neo-classical scene and joining forces with one of the top 10 philharmonic orchestras in the world - Tonhalle Zürich. Working with great care and innovation he has created a truly immersive audio-visual performance experience, combining a mesmerising integration of electronic and classical instrumentation, with a visual art installation based on breath taking nature landscapes shot from a helicopter perspective. With such an innovative approach he aims to bridge the gap between classical and electronic music and introduce a whole new generation to the neo-classical concept. 

Sebastian's deep connection with music can be traced back to his formative years; from playing the organ and violin as a child, to performing in orchestras, string quartets and pop band, progressing into electronic music in his late teens. Discovering house and techno in the mid-nineties was the catalyst behind a revolution in his life, he set out on a new musical pathway, to promote the simplicity of being. Throughout the late nineties he experimented with electronic sounds, forming cult duo Minilogue with a friend and releasing with Crosstown Rebels, Traum Schallplatten, Wagon Repair and more, plus two albums via Cocoon – ‘Animals’ (2008) and ‘Blomma’ (2013). In 2014, the duo decided to take a break and invest their time in solo projects and Sebastian has since been hard at work cultivating a collection of new music already snapped up by hugely influential labels such as R&S sub-label Apollo, Drumcode, Hypercolour and Minus.

Sebastian Mullaert’s live performances are awe-inspiring, combining technical wizardry with energy, atmosphere and euphoria, you only have to watch his “Interpretations” performance for XLR8R or Boiler Room appearance for examples of his prowess. Recognition of his aptitude has led him to perform at institutions and festivals such as Panorama Bar - Berlin, Labyrinth Festival - Japan, Fabric - London, Concrete - Paris, The Block - Tel Aviv and Blackmarket - NYC. 

Sebastian’s collaborative work runs parallel to his solo endeavours and he has teamed up with several figures in the techno world to produce some unforgettable releases. Collaborators include Mathew Jonson, Eitan Reiter, Aril Brikha and Ulf Eriksson, and releases have come via underground platforms such as Hypnus, Mule Musiq and Kontra Musik. He also produces under the alias Wa Wu We, offering a serene, understated take on the techno aesthetic. Furthermore he is involved in the new Be Yokai project, a trio formed of Sebastian, Douglas Holmquist and Kristoffer Ström. The three men formed a natural alliance, finding their flow after several sessions together. Their first EP is signed to Hypercolour sub-label Space Hardware, with a live show and more music in the pipeline.

Sebastian Mullaert is already established as a potent force in the world of electronic music. Serious about reminding people to BE on the dance floor, or in the comfort of their own home, the music he makes is deep, progressive and utterly unique. Whatever the future holds, you can be sure he will continue to channel the infinite energy that surrounds us into every facet of his life.
