Made this Mix when I caught covid back in August and tbh this whole set is basically a soundtrack to my headspace at the time. Was thinking at highspeeds and felt like I was hired to make a need for speed most wanted playlist but in the year 2057 where music plays internally in your brain you know? Expect footwork, juke, jungle, grime and bit of techno and some more random shit. IDEAL mix for when you're in full focus mode and gotta work fast.

@hydrabad is a Punjabi-Ugandan Audio-Visual Semiologist who’s DJ’ing utilizes a stream of consciousness approach. This mix is a fragmented collage of punk, noise, industrial, vocal chants, warped percussion textures and other tangents. As part of the Acceleration Radio collective, they are committed to creating community and gathering spaces around music through audiovisual presentations and intentional curation.

Influences: 
The music I play is usually influenced by the seasons; happier playful sounds in warmer months, intense moody sounds in cooler months.  This mix is a particularly moody mix of atmospheric drum and bass, EBM and techno taking inspiration from artists such as Patrick Russell, Forest Drive West and Pessimist.  I also find myself using a lot of atmospheric noise to create abstract movie-like soundtracks taking inspiration from Rrose and Paleman; this particular movie soundtrack is a fictitious bleak sci-fi horror.  I also usually try to avoid playing music with 4x4 kick patterns.  

Affiliations/Residencies/Projects: 
My main affiliation/project right now is PPRZ Records, a Vancouver BC based record label and podcast series I run with DJ Hockey.  I also curated for 'Afrofuturism is NOW' (a label to showcase some of my favourite POC artists) and I currently sit on the board of directors for Active Passive who host 'experimental/ambient' shows/festivals on Galiano Island, BC.  I don't have any specific club residencies, but I play most regularly at Dolly, one of my favourite venues in Vancouver.

Sebastien also known as SUBDIDI is a multi disciplinary artist who currently resides in Vancouver as a DJ, VJ and tattoo artist. Through the use of these mediums, Sub is consistently adding his experiences as a Haitian artist to the BIPOC Canadian underground music and art scene by specifically implementing sounds, attitudes and themes that are rooted in Black culture.
