From the deepest respect the main intention of this series is to expand music culture by approaching world music to the electronic music world where they can be played in dj sets and get discovered by new audiences.

We are trying to be loyal to the original track and just give them that touch to make the playable.

This is a chance for people to get in touch with artists that otherwise they would never discovered and the first step to dig into their musics, their cultures and their lives.

This song is by the Polish singer Kayah and Cesaria Evora, a Grammy award artist from Cabo Verde ... she died in 2011at the age of 70 leaving behind a massive legacy. Her popularity in Cabo Verde is that big that she appears in the 2000 escudos note.

DJ/Producer and Permanent Vacation label co-founder/owner Benjamin Fröhlich is back on Torture the Artist, two years after his first interview to talk about many things, but mainly the time between then and now - just about the same time it took to entertain an idea of making an album, through to its fruition. Less than a week away from the release of his nine-tracker Amiata on his label, the (still) Munich based artist recalls his musical influences, and his recent production process, expresses some thoughts on what has changed and much about what remained the same, and even reveals an exciting plan due out in the tangible future (spoiler alert not to be missed here). 

Benjamin Fröhlichs's album 'Amiata' will be released on Permanent Vacation, May 10th, 2019.
