Tokyo based, dark and dirty disco label Blindetonation is back with another fine package that showcases the breadth and depth of its artists. ‘Blindetonation Split 01’ features five tracks of drug chug, slow motion and weird cosmic sounds that join the dots between the global analogue disco movement.

Up first is Gabriel Ferreira, an Argentinian label boss at Ninefont Music who has been making everything from techno to pop to funk for a decade. He has also released on Items & Things and his excellent ‘Slow Sugar’ is a seriously slo-mo track with flabby arps and dehumanised female vocals rumbling along next to siren like synths and soothing sweeps of white noise.

Then comes Club Bizarre, a Metz duo who count Chloé and Daniel Avery as fans of their work to date. Their fantastic ‘Supernova’ is a colourful track full of big dramatic chords, sugary synths that shoot skyward and tin pot percussion that is loose limbed and funky. 

Steve Ekman then gets much grittier with his high pressure, industrial disco chugger ‘Obscuria’ with its desolate horizons and ghoulish vocals. Full of post punk energy, it is a truly forceful proposition.

For his part, Bird of Paradise (aka OOFT! and Eric Duncan backed UK talent Jo Howard) offers the soothing, organic and dreamy delights of ’92 Responder’ with its lush chords, trilling bird sounds and airy atmospherics all working a charm. 

Finally, the talented trio of Ivan Smoka, Christian C and Vinz Vincenzo go for a deep disco track with lilting acid lines rising up and down next to tape delayed chords and cosmic guitar riffs that are fresh, Balearic and beautiful.
This fine package is another winning proposition from Blindetonation and one that brings together plenty of assured talents from around the world.

Volta Cab return to Nein with a stunning ep of dark brooding electronics, title track sounds like ralf and florian in the 21st century whilst the bruising white woman in trouble comes on all angular. Remixes come courtesy of In Flagranti who stretches and bends kontrol into and even more epic version and K-effect take White Woman and twist and turn into a dark pulsing new beat affair.

Mañana RFR publicará el séptimo volumen de su serie Bavarian Stallion, una colección de 12" que está publicando el sello alemán fundado en Munich recientemente por la gente de Pastamusik. A lo largo de los seis anteriores volumenes de la serie han pasado artistas de la región Bávara como Jichael Mackson, Skee Mask, Zenker Brothers o Roland Appel, entre otros. 

En esta ocasión el EP recoge cuatro temas nuevos. El primero de ellos es obra del veterano Dj Hell junto a Italo Brutalo, un corte titulado People Under The Age que se ve acompañado en la misma cara por Change Your Life de Martin Matiske. En la segunda cara nos encontramos con un corte de 1KW y otro de la dj y productora Panic Girl. Debajo tienes los snippets de los cuatro temas. Coming out of hibernation, Throne of Blood returns to the dancefloor with three off-kilter originals from Liudas Lazauskas aka Roe Deers. Rounding out this latest digital only offering are three scorching remixes, each leaning into different elements of the title cut, “Hide and Seek.”

After an epic 2018 that saw a string of releases and remixes on Omnidisc, Ombra, Nein, Rotten City, Sulk Magic and many more, the Vilnius, Lithuania based Roe Deers has established a distinctive sound that’s hypnotically trippy but shot through with an almost goth darkness.

On remix duties we’ve recruited the secretive Vyvyan who made his debut last year remixing erstwhile TOB contributor Paul Woolford for Man Power’s Me Me Me.
Pin Up Club! (Phantasm, Bordello A Parigi) fuse “Hide And Seek” with some dubbed out keys and subbass rumble. The final refix from label manager Max Pask and his studiomate, DFA’s Juan Maclean scour the track down to its barest elements with a storming acid groove.

Since a year or so I've been sharing my studio space with Ramses3000. The enigmatic DJ and producer has always been someone who's interests had been split between two worlds: world music (for the lack of a better term) and dance music. His electro-chaabi act 'Cairo Liberation Front' is a testament of this. Around this time, a year ago, we started working together on his solo debut, with 'Genie Wit A Message (In A Bottle)' as the result.
