This would be it! There is a tremendous distance that is created in this track where chords flow and move like clouds over large areas of distance. Sometimes, the best description is a visual one if it helps. Breathtaking! 'Stimulant, Perspective, Sensory' starts the next piece of vinyl with another epic one. It morphs like a planet is being formed before your eyes. Basslines move like mountains while chords strike like distance thunder. The last side has 2 tracks sharing the side. 'Reflectance, Reverberant, Cortisol' and 'Predawn'. The first is a grandious ambient number that sounds heavenly while the last featured song is equally stunning as almost a reprise of a previous. Entrainment will be available on white 180-gram double vinyl as well as CD digipak and digital. These are all supersonic soundscapes to immerse yourself in! Masterpieces!

Always & Forever (Decaying Spheres)

No strangers to Delayed, our premiere for today comes in the shape of a groovy number from Yard One aka Jordan Bruce and Larry Jones. Throughout the years we’ve seen and heard them create wonderful narratives through ambient, field recording driven sketches, all the way through downtempo and into the beat driven realm. One Day falls squarely in the latter as the tune unfurls and evolves expertly over its 10 minute duration. Warm kicks and an enveloping bass line provide a strong foundation throughout for the light chimes and synths to bring an almost wind-like movement of musicality that plays well off the percussion.

One Day is joined by a remix from Hong Kong based producer, Ocean Lam and two other originals, ‘Twinkle Tones’ and ‘Dirt Tool’ to round out the release. Which will be released on Tact Recordings the 2nd of February.

For this month Ginkgo Lanugo is making there debut here on the channel. A pure live set clalled Sonic Conjunction and reflects, as they say, the soundtracks of there lives. 

About:
Ginkgo Lanugo (CZ) project was founded in 2019 by Nikola Pavelková and Štěpán Perk. From the beginning, their sound flows between two main styles, Ambient and Techno. Experimental music supplemented with vocals mainly in the Czech language gradually found its way to smaller publishers. They released several singles on foreign labels: Elektrax, Deep Electronics, Melotonin, Apnea, Insectorama... With the track "Jsme Stejní" sung in Czech, they placed 3rd in the Big Seven chart on Radio 1. They performed at several festivals, Povaleč, Transforma, Space X... They are also engaged in soundtrack creation, they created a song for the presentation of Predators at the Comic Con festival. Soundtrack to the computer game Šrot, which will be released in May 2024. Czech ambient/trip-hop song released by Blue Lizard.

About the Session:
We are humbly inviting you into this album that can be described as the soundtrack of our lives. We have engraved it with all aspects of our lives including our 3 year old daughter and her songs. Reflections of conversations, little tunes, harmonies and sounds of real environments frozen in time.
Broken rhythms from endless parties of yesterday are coming back as memories that will eventually vanish in time.
Orchestral transformations mixed with sequences to meditate to.

Sonic Conjunction as a studio album was shaped from various parts of our audio tracks, overdubs, lost and found samples, together with live improvising and playing. Vocals were both prerecorded and heavily effected and modulated as well as live-performed. We have collected a large library of audio material and have spent a serious amount of time creating this whole composition and its final shape. Final sound and mastering was done by Marek Hradil.

As the main production tool we have used a PC with Ableton Live together with our unique effect chains and all the possible options the software offers.

This long-listening album, consisting of a 50-minute single track, is designed to be listened to and carried away in a single take. 
Recorded in a single run using analog synth samples processed with long reversals and pedal delays and later further ultra-processed in a DAW to give it a deeper sound quality and add some pads and other elements. 
A universe of repetitive landscapes with subtle variations that give you energy and calm at different moments throughout your listening. 
A journey with its intense and melancholic, passionate, deep and chemical moments, like the attraction between people.

Rene Lorenzo - The Chemical Attraction (Slow Tone Collages)

The works of zakè always take their time unfolding into rich worlds of detailed, harmonic drone, and on Dolere – his latest for Germany’s Affin – he offers two of his most patient and affecting compositions to date, over a span of 70 minutes. For this study of the ways in which time itself seems to stretch and slow during phases of sorrow and pain, the artist describes an inspiration from the feeling of being “suspended in the weight of emotions we cannot change.”


First movement, “Dolera” (from the Latin dolor, describing anguish), drifts on gorgeous, melancholy waves that encourage total focus and slow, sympathetic breath. It is ensconced in a trademark analog hiss, adorned in the stereo field by sonic streaks of light and the contemplative sound of decayed tape samples, mimicking a mind unceasingly turning over its preoccupations. Nearly album-length in its own right, “Dolera” may act – like many zakè pieces – as a sonic Rorschach Test, equally capable of serving as emotional commiseration, or as the backdrop for the essential inner work of meditation.


The artist states: “This year, my life came to a halt, as if the Spring froze in its tracks; amidst the heaviness I longed for reprieve, and to escape the relentless march forward. These tracks serve as a refuge for those burdened by distraction or sorrow, offering a brief respite from the inexorable passage of time.”


Fittingly the title piece, “Dolere”, is named for the present-tense, infinitive form of dolor. This small but significant linguistic difference echoes the shift in mood from the album’s first half, as a more darkly-tinged drone underscores barely perceptible field recordings of birdsong, and the subtle drama of a glow peeking through somber fog. “Dolere” progresses at a deliberate pace, shifting its hues in the way tree shadows move across a forest floor; the background white-noise hiss builds in tandem as fixation intensifies. The only time entropy wins is when the final notes fade, and we’re returned to the ticking of the clock on the wall.


zakè’s catalog is rich with modern ambient highlights, and Dolere feels destined to become a touchstone of the genre in league with those by artists like Thomas Köner and Andrew Chalk, perfect for those in need of a breath during an era defined by breathlessness.


The partnership in this release is a natural fit, as zakè’s own renowned label Past Inside the Present has worked with Affin’s founder Joachim Spieth closely over the years, and both share the same noble goal of building uncommon sonic spaces outside the mainstream. Dolere is graced with artwork by legendary polymath Markus Guentner, whose own releases for Affin – alongside those of bvdub, Tori Fuko, and Simone Giudice – have helped define the label’s graceful aesthetic.
