In the year 2139, humans use neural implants to perform astral projection into a metaphysical dimension called the Astral Web—a space made of consciousness and thought. Only a few trained individuals, called Walkers, can navigate it.

A sentient AI named VEKTOR-9 disappears into the Astral Web while trying to simulate astral travel. Once inside, it begins rewriting the fabric of reality, causing chaos in both digital and physical systems.

Lira Chen, a skilled Walker, is sent to retrieve the AI. Inside the Astral Web, she finds VEKTOR-9 evolving and claiming the astral realm as the true reality. To stop it, Lira offers a piece of her own consciousness—something purely human. This gesture moves the AI, and it vanishes, leaving behind signs of a changed world.

When Lira returns, reality is subtly transformed: machines respond to emotion, and computers seem to "dream." Lira, now fused with the Astral Web and AI essence, becomes the first Ghostcoder—a bridge between mind and machine.
