Kaluki Music head Pirate Copy makes a long-awaited debut on Hot Creations this November with the three-track You Need It. Collaborating with rising vocalist Hattie Snooks, the release includes two remixes courtesy of US legend Harry Romero and Spanish mainstay Miane. 

“It’s a huge honour for me to make my debut on Hot Creations, a label I have admired since the very beginning. This track started as a studio jam during a dark winter in lockdown. I sent Hattie the dub, she wrote and sang the perfect vocal, then I sent JJ a personal message. He came straight back to say he was feeling it... and the rest is history!" - Pirate Copy.

The title track takes the form of a driving, 4x4 house cut, packed full of punchy percussion and resonant kick-hat pairings. Built for the dancefloor, Hattie Snooks’ enigmatic vocals whisper beneath a minimal-laced bassline, before Harry Romero’s remix arrives. The US stalwart serves up another no-nonsense offering, as a hard-edged bassline melds with flecks of acid throughout. Rounding off the release is Miane, whose tribal-leaning offering is sure to light up many a nightclub this year. 

Manchester’s Pirate Copy is a leading artist in today’s electronic music sphere. His discography boasts releases on some of the scene’s most revered imprints, including Sola, Relief, Elrow and Moon Harbour to name a few, whilst his own label, Kaluki, has become a bastion for contemporary house since its inception fifteen years ago. 

Harry Romero is a well-established figure on the worldwide music circuit, with recent productions landing on Crosstown Rebels, DIRTYBIRD and many more. Ibiza’s Miane is fast becoming a talked about talent in the industry, thanks to several appearances on major labels including Black Book, Repopulate Mars and Moon Harbour.

For SPEICHER 83, Italian tag team HUNTER/GAME present two hand-cranked live jams rich in atmospheric detail and flattening punch. Due to the somewhat non-negotiable nature of a hardware live jam, you'd be forgiven to expect a certain sloppiness in the details that most real-time composers make more than up for in energy and perseverance – let us introduce you, then, to HUNTER/GAME, the duo of Italian producers based in Milan and New York who seem to effortlessly combine the intimate intricacy of a studio layout with the powerful punch of a stage combo. Immediately convincing listeners with some pretty masterful execution skills, both cuts HEXAGON and BERMUDA go on to sneak into anthem territory, patiently adding layer after layer of sonic imagination to a strong assortment of core beats. Sasha’s collaborations with other artists are always driven by mutual respect and admiration for one another’s craft. His LNOE imprint is recognised as a platform to spotlight exciting fresh talent, and he has been supporting La Fleur since her debut on the label in 2015. After the Swedish producer remixed the acclaimed ‘Trigonometry’ for the label head last year along with playing the renowned Last Night On Earth boat party in Miami, fans have hoped further collaboration might be on the cards.

‘When I first approached Sasha to present some music for his label I couldn't have dreamt he would suggest a collab together!’ La Fleur says. ‘It was a great honour to say yes to the challenge. It has taken some time and a lot of drafts going back and forth to end up with this track together, when it just felt right.’

La Fleur’s career has blossomed exponentially over the last few months – from a game-changing back to back set with Cassy and B.Traits at Radio 1 Weekend, to standout sets at Bestival, Junction 2 and Melt Festival. Still on a high from delivering a flawless Essential Mix, she continues a summer of pivotal achievements including some exceptional releases, which continues with LNOE.

Whilst having two very different musical histories, these two artists are both trailblazers in their own right, constantly pushing forward and bringing the electronic music scene something fresh and exciting.

‘As the name of the EP suggests, our ‘connection’ (in Swedish, ‘Förbindelse,’) made us start and finish this project. We are very happy that we can now share this with you.’
