Making her debut on Biologic Records, complete with a remix from Steffi, here we find the talented Belgian artist strapping up her rocket boosters for a four-track trip into infinity. It takes in influences from dark matter to Detroit, black holes to Brussels.

‘Aurora Space Station’ is a beautiful rave-inspired breakbeat floatation piece that sets the scene, poking fun at the mega-rich who can afford to seriously entertain the idea of leaving this planet for dust. More thrust is added by the deep space electro of Steffi’s thumping remix. Both have more power than all the fossil fuel Bezos and Branson have burnt in the last 10 years.

Deeper into the cosmos we probe…. ‘Neptunian Sea’ takes off from Chicago, fuelled on an intoxicating combo of acid and Italo. ‘Love Bus’ brings the anti-gravity heat with a heavy, hip-writhing nod to the jazz spirit of UR’s Galaxy 2 Galaxy movements.

We might not be able to afford a holiday in space, but we can afford great art like this. The dancefloor has always been the most effective place for teleportation. Ready for take off?

Spring is coming and, while going through my garage, I stumbled upon a pair of “Dur Chaton” (in english : Hard Kitty). Composed by Sophie Laronde and Moldav, this first EP opens the doors of a mysterious universe between small pop rhapsodies and sounds of a bold radicality.

Inspired by the forest, your cat, your life with those gloomy mornings, Dur Chaton takes you on a poetic journey through the "Douce Vie Dure". Thanks to a sincere and frontal songwriting, the duo will make your life a little less bitter.

This release is an international compilation of 10 tracks produced exclusively by women from various horizons. This compilation was curated in support of women and the Iranian people in general. Proceeds will be redistributed to the "Collectif Femme Azadi" association, which provides material and media support for their struggle.

The journey begins with The Year of Blood by Gülce Özen Gürkan, a multi-layered dark and industrial soundscape, incorporating samples of the voice of Masih Alinejad that introduces the political nature of this release. Next, I Am an Iranian Woman by Nour Kara & Juliette Capel is a mixture between industrial, organic sounds, cello and voice, with a powerful atmosphere. The track Infinite Expansion by the duo Catenation is a dark ambient interlude before the banger Corpo in which Sara Brown lays her words on the edge-cutting production of Mad Monkey. Another duo, Flugen feat. Hura Mirshekari, proposes Mashaal, an introspection tack with deep vocals and rhythmics : The message of Mashaal is that the torch can never be turned off; wherever we are, we hold the roots of our lands and it is our duty to keep the fire burning. To wake you up from this dream comes Constructor, a breakbeat roller by Lyschen Finkorum, developing a great work on evolving patterns. Afterward, F9THF brings us Mina, on which she used her voice and complex polyrhythms in a delightful and glitchy combination. The next track, suyumuz özelleştiriliyor by pyruvicac.id, sounds like a long and gloomy ritual, with mutating vocal pads, tabla drums and acid synths. The penultimate track, Hundestern Klein produced by Marka Tamea, is a downtempo acid banger, containing crazy-sounding vocals by Rasputoin. Finally, The Chase, a mental techno roller by SDYK, closes this compilation.

Perdí La Luz is the project of Alfredo Lazaro from Washington. HIs sound combines the raw energy of techno, post punk and EBM, influenced by early 80s electronic pioneers such as DAF, Front 242 and Liaisons Dangereuses. With previous releases on Unknown To The Unknown’s Soft Computing, Plains Archaic and Heist Mode, he makes his Death Decay Magic debut with Cruel Fate, a four song EP with remixes by Jennifer Touch and Black Light Smoke.

PREMIERE: Perdí La Luz - Cruel Fate [Death Decay Magic]

Paris-based electronic music producer Gewaltem, a highly sensitive introvert, grew up in a catalyst musical environment, later conducive to his intellectual and personal growth. A fertile soil, consequently for the development of a musical meaning built on synesthetic processes where his cognitive and interpretive skills deliver Gewaltem a unique perception of the outside world. Between intimate wistful diary and sound experimentation, Gewaltem's music is an interesting paradox where the quest for blue and nocturnal anxieties rub shoulders, where opulent soundscapes lead to a romantic shuddering atmosphere, perceived as the only way to dodge the routine, express, understand, and overcome overwhelming feelings.

Working with old friends is always a joyous thing so Optimo Music is delighted to be releasing the new EP from our old friend Facets. Boris has been coming to our New York gigs for as long as I can remember and always brings a great energy. That energy flows over into his music. EBM has become a much abused term in recent times but here are some tracks exploring that EBM DNA where the creator 100% knows that history and what they are doing. Taking that knowledge and bringing that sound right up to date. We asked Boris for some notes on the tracks.

He said -

All three tracks spread across different genres I like and each has its own unique type of energy. 

“Noć,” which includes haunting Serbian vocals from Marija Kovacevic and lyrics by Jesus Martinez, has an arpeggiated sequence along with a new wave-esque bassline. 

“Breakable” is a driving synth track that used lots of modulation accompanied by a 12-bit drum machine. 

Finally, “Reveal Yourself” is an EBM track on which I incorporated my own vocals for the first time, as well as lyrics that came from a vivid dream I had.

These early 2000’s house-inspired tracks are full of groove and perfectly cut for the dancefloor. The infectious percussive rhythms and xx’s vocals will definitely put you in a warm and sultry trance.

On remix duties, an explosive duo ! Our dear @anna-gram is coming in hot by keeping ‘Eclipse’ infectious energy and bringing some of her own magical proggy-trance sound to the mix.

Public Possession’s wizard @djedenburns, purveyor of what he calls the ‘Big Beat Manifesto’, follows on the percussive side of ’X Control’ with a more stripped-down and deliciously trippy version.
