About Not Lars:

Not Lars is an electronic solo act by Lars Netzel, Sweden. This project very first release "Worry" got instant attention in the chill/ambient scene with it's forest themed video, shot in a nature reserve just outside Gothenburg. Not Lars' music can surely be recognized as synth but is heavily influenced by a sad and atmospheric touch, giving it much more of an emotional impact than your average synth pop track. 

Not Lars about his remix:

– This song was a pain in the ass to begin remixing since the original version is basically perfect! In fact, it directly became my favorite Thermostatic track ever so, to not look like a complete fool I had to take a different approach and create a new sound with a new chorus. I decided to get rid of the most characteristic sound and focus more on the vocals. Stripped down, with changed harmonies and then re-reverbed I finally ended up satisfied with an atmospheric Not Lars interpretation.  Actually, Louise's text message "IT'S AWESOME!!" gave me the feeling I did well considering I had to cut up a masterpiece .<br><br>

Animal (Not Lars Remix)

Info about Second System:

Charley, the man behind the the Second System project, started making music in the late '90s after getting his first synthesizer more or less by accident. After studying the Electronic Music Producer program at SAE in 2003 he started producing and remixing non-commercial Industrial / EBM / Noise tracks using the pseudo Project Wintermute. 
In 2008 he decided to change this moniker to Second System and along with the name the genre was also transformed into a more melodic one; something in-between indie, synthpop, electronic 8-bit dance with, sometimes, a few experimental sounds. 


Second System about his remix:


– All started with the crazy idea of flying to Gothenburg for a Thermostatic concert. I was pretty stunned by this new song "Animal" and I got this idea of including a piano and combining Louise's vocals with a stutter effect. In fact, I was always looking for a singer in my own projects so with this remix project I got the chance of mixing with vocals. It took some time getting the foundation, because I only used the vocals and had to rebuild the whole song around it. But from that point it was a great fun, experimenting with different beats and vocoder settings ... and, oh, and i added 5 bpm :).

Some fun facts: The Bassline and the lead guitar Sound are created with a C64 SID Chip running thru a guitar rack. I used my modular Synth on most of the background Sounds.

Second system is a one man project. I started making Music in the late 90ties after getting my first Synthesizer more or less by accident. I finished the EMP Course at SAE in 2003. Second System started 2008 as a remixing project. Under this name the overall sound changed to a more melodic one and soon it became something in between Indie Synth Pop Electronic 8Bit Dance with, sometimes, a few experimental Sounds. The first release was Animal (Second System Remix) in Feb 2014 for Thermostatic. Since then Second System developed and started working on own tracks and coproducing for different other Artists.
