It's been an interesting year for us...  from conception, to working on tracks with our heroes, being remixed by some of our favourite producers as well as returning the favour and flipping s**t back to some true school realness. It’s that time of year again when we invite some of our favourite producers to have a crack at remixing iconic tracks of their choice. We’ve put a bit of a twist on it this year. Being quite proud of the body of original Ghetto Funk tunes we’ve released to date, we’ve thrown open our own vaults to some of our in-house producers to have their wicked way with us. The results are astounding…it certainly takes the breath away!

It’s our way of saying thank you to you for following and supporting what we do, we’d be nothing without you and it makes us proud to have your love, we hope this year’s Icons destroy your dance floors all over the world!

The All Good Funk Alliance drop a new EP featuring 4 different styles of funk for their
Super Hi-Fi label. “Make it Go-Go” featuring Big Tony of Trouble Funk has that classic DC Go-
Go sound but updated for the 2000’s. It's full of clanking percussion, horn blasts, and funky
synths making for a dope mid-tempo jam.
“Do Work” featuring Mustafa Akbar, goes for that Motown sound but updated in that
Mayer Hawthorne meets Mark Ronson way. This one is really catchy and you will find yourself
singing along to it.
“Funk This Jam” featuring Soul Suit is classic AGFA. A funky mid-tempo number that
feels like something that they would have put out on Funk Weapons back in the day. It's got call
and response vocals and insane breakdowns. Classic AGFA!
Finally we have “On - Off Boogie”. This nu-disco funk jam has got some squawky talk
box, funky beats, and really intricate synth work. It leans more on AGFA's “boogie funk” style
which rounds out this EP perfectly.

Sliced bass-lines, filtered synths and thick drums rule the composition of the duo from Budapest… Having had a long No.1 Charts hit for Nipponeer Records on the previous release, Kid Panel has returned to the label delivering a special re-work to please all the old-school heads who were filling the dancefloors in the '90s. In case, you were familiar with the Big-Beat raves some twenty years ago, you'll be more than delighted to hear his contribution to the release… Introducing on the label, AGFA, the godfathers of new funky-breaks, is putting down a beautiful example how a proper remix shall be delivered!
