Just a Little Electronica

Written in the beautiful, hazy and humid summer of 2015, "The Function" is an homage to all that is Montreal in it's most vibrant time of year. This tape is a tribute to the late nights out, new friends by morning and the vernacular that comes along with the cultural melting pot of Montreal's nightlife. Comfort Zone (@comfortzonemontreal) brings together classic filter house sounds and modern polish that is a breath of fresh air in today's ever dominant lo-fi house aesthetic.

And the loop goes on and on and on. Four times, until the end. The wheel would continue to spin, the planet would continue to turn and the sun would set upon this day once more. This relaxation would never be found once more, they were lost, deep within the comfort zone. 

Second Hand Fun is a new label which appear to have hit the ground running. Split between Montreal and Berlin their first release comes from Comfort Zone with an EP named 'The Function'.

For our first mix, we wanted to showcase all the great producers we've crossed paths with living in Toronto and Montreal. With all the spotlight on the west coast of Canada, it seemed like a good opportunity to showcase what the east coast has up its sleeve. All the producers & DJs highlighted in this mix have varying ranges of notoriety in the dance world, but they all maintain a crucial connection to their local scene.
