Debs is a Newcastle based artist and maker of music. She trained at The Kent Institute of Art & Design and Goldsmith's, University of London.

Debs is a multi-instrumentalist. She began writing what could be described as acoustic indie-folk. She now tends to focus on writing experimental and cinematic soundscapes.

Debs has played live in session for the BBC. She’s received multiple plays on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Newcastle, Amazing Radio & many other UK & international radio stations.

Debs has collaborated with New York based cellist Leah Coloff (Damon Albarn/Blur, Nancy Sinatra, Iggy Pop) www.leahcoloff.com 
They will be looking to work together again in the near future.

'Second Hand Wings' are a five-piece band known for their ability to crack the stoniest of audiences 
through emotive rhythms and soaring vocals. Listeners have described a likeness to Fleet Foxes, the 
Pierces and Laura Marling. Layer this with deep seated drums and bass…and you are getting nearer 
to a Fleetwood Mac sound. 
The band released their debut album Mountain City on 27th May 2013 where they held a sold out 
launch party at Salfords infamous Islington Mill. 
Regulars on the Northern Music scene, playing packed gigs at venues such as Club Academy, 
Manchester pride, Band on the Wall’s Rawfest and The Castle Hotel. The band are due to tour the 
album later this year across the UK and parts of Europe.

"Creating a stage for the city’s young talent"
Raw Fest is mini music festival showcasing Manchester's finest RAW talent, from bands and DJs to artists and performers, with supporting headliner Mr Scruff.

Launched in May 2012, Raw Fest provides a platform for breakthrough Mancunian artists to showcase original music. It aims to create opportunities for people from Manchester and beyond who are passionate about music, art and live events, whether their talent lies on stage or off stage behind the scenes.

We welcome solo artists, bands and DJs to perform at our annual event, and also offer the chance for live event production students to help plan and execute the event.

The one-day festival on Saturday, 15th June 2013 will promote and support the best unsigned artists from a wide spectrum of genres, provide an opportunity for students at Backstage Academy to run the staging, lighting and sound, and will ultimately see the donation of profits to charities who support our vision.
