PREMIERE FOR BTS

BTS collective is back with the fourth release on their label: ‘Selem’ EP by MERVH. The Turkish-born, Warsaw-based producer makes her debut with a 3 track digital EP backed with remixes from Violent, HATELOVE, and Sekulahr.
The release opens with ‘She Is Gone’ in which haunting vocals that establish an elegiac tone drift over an entrancing beat, up till a cathartic indurstialesque climax. The atmosphere becomes even more dense on „The Death Was Near” where fast and heavy drums meet melancholic yet ecstatic pads, urging for a frantic dance. MERVH downs the tempo again into industrial mode on the final original track ‘Endless Longing’ which finishes off with an epic synth line. Violent’s cinematic rework of ‘She Is Gone’ continues the sublime atmosphere in a complex yet smooth 8-minute composition that takes the listener on a purgatory journey. Next up, HATELOVE reinterprets ‘The Death Was Near’ into a merciless galloping banger in his signature style. The final remix is Sekulahr’s stepping and atmospheric rendition of ‘Endless Longing’ which eventually turns into trance mode for a grand finale. In memory of Selem.

Insane Tempus by ROBotron starts with a rhythmic pulse reminiscent of a beating heart, gradually evolving into intricate, swirling rhythms and a rich tapestry of sounds. Initially, it feels restrained, but soon the atmosphere expands as if delivering a message from the depths of a distant galaxy. Persistent and, at times, ominously haunting, the sonic lines wrap around you sometimes intensifying, sometimes receding leaving behind a lingering tension and faint echoes reverberating through an infinite expanse. The soundscape is utterly captivating, suspended in a vast, weightless dimension, expanding and contracting with a mesmerizing cadence. It comes alive, shifting and morphing crackling, whispering, humming, and shimmering through ever-changing tonal layers. Like an entity of stardust coursing through the veins of a galaxy, it evokes a surreal and immersive experience that lingers long after the final sound fades.

“Death Note” slowly grows into a ritualistic evocation via sharp effects and industrial kicks, a serpentine pastiche no strange to subtle distortions and droning moments. Once again we find ourselves in a dark world conjured by aptly placed soundscapes and rhythmic patterns released at the right time, and the last part of the track sees a celestial climax.
